Depends on what you mean by terrified. That he acts like a new school Joe McCarthy. Yeah, considering the damage McCarthy did to our country insanely mis-labelling people he disagreed with as "communists" when he was just a congressman that has certain historic resonances that are somewhat scary. Only somebody who was completely ignorant of 20th century history would not at least notice when a member of Congress throws around that word that inaccurately to broad swaths of the American public. McCarthyism was dark chapter in recent American history.

Credo SuperPAC calls West “racist, sexist, anti-science, hypocritical and downright crazy.” I'd say they were about right.

I'm sure it will be money well spent. He does some to have a keen grasp of economics. For example, women's libbers cause deficits.
In April 2011, West told a conservative women’s conference that liberal women “have been neutering American men and bringing us to the point of this incredible weakness — to let them know that we are not going to have our men become subservient. That’s what we need you to do. Because if you don’t, then the debt will continue to grow…deficits will continue to grow.” But hey everybody has right to voice their opinion. Or do they? Depends on how Mr. West feels like spelling that day. In response to the whistleblower website Wikileaks releasing thousands of pages of diplomatic cables, West declared: “And I think that we also should be censoring the American news agencies which enabled [Julian Assange] to do this and also supported him and applauding him for the efforts.” West later claimed he only called for “censuring” the media. the looney left really hates to see a successful, educated and conservative black man.
I'd say they were about right. |

yet I thought the left always said that blacks can't be racist. No, gentlemen like Mr. West can be ignorant and biased in a whole rainbow of different ways. For example he's not really very big on religious tolerance either. During the same town hall, West claimed: “George Bush got snookered into going into some mosque, taking his shoes off, and then saying that Islam was a religion of peace.” During a March 2011 town hall, West talked about the “Coexist” movement, saying of their bumper stickers: “Every time I see one of those bumper stickers, I look at the person inside that is driving. Because that person represents something that would give away our country. Would give away who we are, our rights and freedoms and liberties because they are afraid to stand up and confront that which is the antithesis, anathema of who we are.” |

Are you gonna say that some Jews hate Gentiles? Kahane's legislative proposals focused on transferring the Arab population out from the Land of Israel, revoking Israeli citizenship from non-Jews, and banning Jewish-Gentile marriages and sexual relations, based on the Code of Jewish Law compiled by Maimonides in the Mishneh Torah. Because the House is elected from smaller, less diverse constituencies, has cheaper election campaigns, and has 435 members, it just seems natural that it's always going to have a few nutjobs in it. It's not like they wield much influence over Congress: in fact, in the era of the soundbite, their chief function seems to be as inadvertent fundraisers for the opposing party. Which is exactly the reason for the manufactured panic described in the article. |
