Default Rick Wornick Tenn (R): I don't trust one Muslim in our Military.
Tennessee State Rep. Rick Womick is raising some eyebrows following some very curious comments he recently made about Muslims.

In an interview with Think Progress’ Lee Fang at the “Preserving Freedom Conference” in Murfreesboro, Tenn., the politician made a number of shocking statements about Islam. To summarize: He made it clear that he doesn’t support allowing Muslims to serve in the U.S. military. But that may be putting it lightly. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/tenn...-our-military/

People like this make me facepalm. We spend billions of dollars in propaganda TV broadcasts, leaflets, humanitarian efforts, and CMO operations to convince Muslims that we're NOT at war with them... then idiots like this open their mouths and undo it all.

What a moron!! Um does he realize that the Taliban and Al Qaeda kill Muslims every day over there? They have no regard for human life and they aren't really Muslims. They're extremists. I mean, Christians denounced their extremists all the time and say "They're not real Christians." Well Muslims denounce terrorists and say "They're not real Muslims."

I haven't even watched the videos on the article yet. What a fucktard!

I have my own brisk criticisms against Islam (particularly in the Middle East) and against religious moderates in general, but thinking that religion should be a way to qualify (or disqualify) someone from service in a government is broken thinking.

Strange, you don't really hear anyone with a (D) after their name shouting that kind of nonsense.

Might be a few that feel that way, I'm of the impression that Bush-Era Neo-Conservativism isn't entirely isolated to the one side, but I'll grant you only one side has substantial representation pushing that agenda actively. I'd have to imagine those with the (D) behind it probably are not anxious to alienate themselves towards their cohorts nor their constituents.

And they have their own flavor of lunacy (which amazingly always seems to escape the notice of those who track the (R)s and (D)s).

This guy is a state rep - not a US rep (thank God) - so he really don't have a national stage.

But, agree he probably has some serious intelligence issues. The article said he was a fighter pilot during Desert Storm. Might have had a "loss of oxygen" issue several times that affected his ability to use logical thinking. But, he also kinda sounds like he is using typical fighter jock type bravado to expouse his views. Dumba** IMO.

If he would've stayed in...he'd probably be someone's wing commander today.

Maybe... unfortunately today with the internet word gets around pretty fast - so wingnuts like him running their mouths DOES have an impact on the international scene.
