I just came accost this article in the New York Post and it made me upset! Basically BLUF: Anthony Maschek a wounded Iraq Vet and 10th Mountain Soldier was speaking at a event in support of returning ROTC to Columbia University in New York while Maschek was speaking he was Jeered and heckled read the full article here:

Well here we go again it is the start of the Vietnam area again where Anti-War Protesters attacked vets coming back from the war. You know I find quite Ironic that these “Protesters” are so brave when they are standing on the corner of First and Main of “Any Town USA” knowing that full well that the only penalty they may receive is a citation for disorderly conduct! I would like to see the groups put their balls on the line so to speak like go one of the countries in the Middle East and join the locals calling for democracy, they would not do it because of one thing -they are cowards plain and simple! If not prove me wrong! They ridiculed Maschek because they looked at him and see themselves as cowards and they hate him for it, because he stood up to do something that they will not do for themselves . To heckle a man who literally shed his blood doing his duty and standing up for his conviction is beyond low.
I personally served this nation for over 25 years and I have no regrets I completed three combat tours in Iraq going out every day on the roads. The locals I encountered were grateful that we were there. You may disagree with me and that is your opinion; but if you think that the Students / People at Columbia that heckled Maschek were right. Then I will have my opinion that they are not and do not deserve the freedom that Maschek provided them, if it comes down to me standing between a radical force that wants to destroy Columbia University I for one will step aside because they do not deserve my protection! What is that quote that is credited to Orwell “People sleep easy in their beds at night when there are rough Men and Woman willing to do violence on their behalf”
But then again this is my opinion I could be wrong.
