"Obama Disappointed With Lack of 'Cool' Phone in Oval Office"

I just shook my head when I read this. Really? That's what you thought when you wanted to be POTUS? That's your worry?

If anyone said this as POTUS I would just sigh and shake my head.

I am glad this is first on his mind over the 3 wars, debt at $14trillion, and many of the other hot topic issues, he worries about his phone that he won't see 2 years from now.

If the Republicans don't get someone, he will see that phone for a few more years...because I don't like the front runners they have right now. Donald Trump? Really? He's freakin nutty I think.

But he's the President of the United States - and casual conversation shouldn't be around reporters when you're at that level. That's just common sense.

Same with this:

http://content.usatoday.com/communit...d-parenthood/1

You should realize when you're in the level of the POTUS, you are always "on the record."

If you don't mind that the person who represents our country, is the commander in chief of the military and makes decisions daily that affect people's lives and he's worried that his phone isn't "cool enough?" Yeah not a huge deal to stop everything else but just a head scratcher and makes some say "Really?"

I understand he's a real person and not a robot. But again when you put yourself in the position to be a public figure, things are different than for "regular" people.

artkolkovk 04-15-2011 04:40 PM

Hes not really a regular person, hes a snob and way out of touch with reality...oh wait...hes a politician!

Same things happened with President Bush. They are intitled to their own opinion and it should not be said in front of reporters. Also those comments were breadcasted because someone screwed up and sent them back to the whitehouse when that link was suppose to be turned off. Its going to happen and while he should be careful about it, its just not always going to happen. you expect and President to be perfect for 4 (or 8) years without something he was saying overheard?

That is the expectation of any public figure by the public. Do I expect that? No because no one is perfect (look at Joe Biden). However I do expect someone in an office such as POTUS to hold themselves to a little higher standard. They are entitled to opinions but they shouldn't be blasting them in what they think is "off the record." Nothing is "off the record" when you're in public whether you're POTUS, VP, other elected officials, or some celebrity like a actor, musician, etc. Once you throw yourself in that spotlight, you lose a little bit of privacy.

Fox "News" with the scoop!

I hope everyone loses their mind over this non-issue.

I would agree if what he said was important or meant something but. atleast in this case, it was not so its no biggie.

Do we need to go down the list of every other news group that runs nonsense or did you think that this was a green light for you to add this irrelevancy?

Obama: Some government workers "are slugs, not trying to do their job"

From the Federal Times Blog: FEDLINE

By: Stephen Losey

President Obama was caught on an open mic during a closed-door fundraiser last night, sharing his thoughts about the federal workforce.

According to CBS reporter Mark Knoller, who heard Obama’s private comments and posted them on his Twitter feed, Obama said that in general, “I would put federal workers against any worker in the private sector.” Obama reportedly said it was “striking … how generally smart and dedicated people are” in the federal workforce.

But he also said that some government workers “are slugs and not trying to do their job,” Knoller reported. “But that’s true of any large institution.”

It wasn't meant to be a "scoop." It wasn't meant to freak people out. But of all the things that are going on in our country he has issue with the phone in his office? Really? I expect a little more from the President and CIC.

You need your sarcasm meter recalibrated.

I asked because it's hard to tell when something is sarcastic when it's typed or written. Fine - what has he "fixed?"
