Dear Antonios,
Would this be before or after the spring, do you think? After reading your last post about the Mahdi, it got me wondering. On a more serious note, it is, as the Archbishop of Canterbury and others pointed out just before Christmas (on the western calendar) a matter for sorrow and prayer that Christians in the Holy Land are in an increasingly precarious situation. My thoughts go out in particular to our poster, Nisreen (Marielle) from whom we have not heard in a while. Of course, if Christians do nothing to help their brothers and sisters in Palestine, these Muslims will turn out to be correct. In Christ, John |

Well said, John. My point in posting the article is for us to be ever mindful of what a difficult situation these brave Christians find themselves in. I am in such awe of their resillience: it is truly inspiring.
At the same time, I realize how much I take for granted my own religious freedom and how easy I have it compared to so many other brothers and sisters in Christ. Much cause for repentance and contrition, knowing that the reason I have it so much easier is probably because of my weak faith. Had the Lord not made me born into Orthodoxy, I would probably not have had any chance at all... Lord have mercy on us. |
