NY Times: http://mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.co...down-on-msnbc/
Good for Lawrence O'Donnell. Smart guy with a good show. Keith is talented at what he does, but I think it's time to re-invent himself. Maybe he'll take his show to the Internet. Maybe Fox will scoop him up. Some of the initial commentary online suggests that these types of terse and abrupt separations and statements generally happen when a host is found to be negotiating a move to competitor. We'll see soon enough, I guess. MSNBC and Keith Olbermann have ended their contract, the network said Friday night. “This is the last edition of Countdown,” Mr. Olbermann said at the end of his program. “Let me thank my gifted staff here, and just a few of the many people who fought with me and for me.” In a statement, MSNBC said it “thanks Keith for his integral role in MSNBC’s success and we wish him well in his future endeavors.” The network said that starting Monday, “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell” would move to 8 p.m., and “The Ed Show,” hosted by Ed Schultz, will move to 10 p.m. |

The New York Times is reporting that Keith took a large exit bonus in exchange for a sort of non-compete wherein he agreed not to take an offer from another network for a certain amount of time. Similar to NBC's exit deal with Conan.
They also report that Keith will be launching a web show in the interim. That strategy has worked out very well for folks like Adam Carolla (for MTV/LA radio) and Leo Laporte (Tech TV/G4). |

Beck predicted Comcast would be interested in journalism and not liberal rabble-rousing and would dump Olbermann. Other angry liberal talking heads at MSNBC better pay atterntion. *Cough* Chris Matthews *Cough*
Click on link for video: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/cong...ds-worst-list/ Media Congratulations: Beck Makes Olbermann‘s ’World‘s Worst’ List Posted on November 23, 2010 at 9:39am by Jonathon M. Seidl When Keith Olbermann re-instituted his “World’s Worst” segment last week you knew it was only a matter of time before Glenn Beck made the list. Last night, Beck took the number two slot. Olbermann took umbrage with Beck’s statements Monday that MSNBC “is marked for death” and that the channel will ditch Olbermann in light of its recent sale. In Olbermann’s words, “everything is a conspiracy” and Beck doesn’t know anything about TV: |
