Thursday October 21, 2010 First to breakfast, then to brothel raid ANTI-VICE policemen pretended to have breakfast outside a building at Jalan Petaling in Kuala Lumpur before storming the two-storey premises to nab 20 women believed to be prostitutes, Sinar Harian reported. The raiding party also caught two men, allegedly the owners of the premises, and nine others, said to be the women’s clients, in the 11am raid on Tuesday. They also found 100 pieces of condoms and lubricants. “We pretended to have breakfast in that area so that our presence was not noticed, as had happened previously when several people fled,” said KL police secret societies, gaming and anti-vice division head Deputy Supt Razali Abu Samah. “The ambush was carried out in the morning, unlike the usual evening raids,” he told the Malay tabloid. Dept Supt Razali said the place had long been suspected of carrying out vice activities and had been raided by the authorities previously. He said the premises re-opened two days ago in a bid to revive the illegal business. |
