wow...it's getting hot ...

US warns Iran's Khamenei not to cross red line - Hindustan Times

The secret communication channel was chosen to underscore privately to Iran the depth of American concern about rising tensions over the Strait, where US Naval officials say their biggest fear is that an overzealous Revolutionary Guards' captain could indulge in provocative act, triggering a crisis.

Chairman joint chiefs of Staff Gen Martin Dempsey had said that US would take action and reopen the Strait, which the NYT said could only be accomplished by a military means, including deploying minesweepers, warships and air strikes.

US officials said that they believe that Iran's threat were a bluster and an attempt to drive up the price of oil and blocking the route used by majority of Iran's petroleum exports would amount to economic suicide.

But Pentagon officials who plan for every contingency say that Iran has the capability to close the Strait although Tehran's forces are hardly a match for those of the US.

US forces believe that Iran has deployed heavily armed speed boats, anti-ship cruise missiles along the Persian Gulf coastline posing a threat to US forces.

How do you get an assassin, a bomb, and a motorcycle into Iran without getting caught?
Very carefully.

Easy. You hire local. Iran is still a pretty open society, and dissenters are everywhere. Not to say this was necessarily the work of a dissenter, it could just be a good old professional working for cash.
Yep, I've heard that the US is training Iranian dissidents in Iraqi Kurdistan. However not all dissents are against the nuke program, even if they want to see the government collapse.

Sky News: Iran says Israel, US killed scientist

An Iranian nuclear scientist has been killed by a car bomb that Tehran immediately blamed on Israel and Washington, worsening a tense international stand-off over its atomic program.

The White House denied any involvement.

Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi told state television that Wednesday's murder of Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan would not stop Iran making 'progress' in its nuclear activities.

Iranian officials noted the assassination method - two men on a motorbike attaching a magnetic bomb to the target's vehicle - was similar to that used in the killings of three other scientists over the past two years.

Parliament erupted with yells of 'Death to Israel' and 'Death to America' after Wednesday's attack.
