It's looks like they are keeping a lid on information until the women are out of North Korea. There was some speculation but it was not consistent.

President Clinton was not representing the United States in this delicate situation. His role was that of a private citizen and a mistake could have sent the two women back to prison instead of freedom. Is that what you wanted ? What President Clinton was doing is called diplomacy.

The only reason these two are back on US soil is beacuse they are wealthy. Laura Ling is sister of Lisa Ling, television host and comes from a very rich family. If they were middle class people, sure as hell they would have served the full sentence.

The rich helping the rich....at taxpayer expenses to boot!

And if he could pick up my dry cleaning and a dozen eggs, I'd greatly appreciate it.
This was a classic post!

Your source that says taxpayer money was used ? The Jet was owned and supplied by a private company.

I'm sure Clinton haters will find something to complain about. He did something good...leave it at that.
Hasn't North Korea been trying to engange us directly for years but we will only negotiate through the six parties?

Lets see if that changes and what results. If we end up directly enganging North Korea but create strains with Japan and the Republic of Korea in the process, then this move could actually be one step forward and two steps back.

There is never a "leave it at that" on a public message board about politics, especially when the above scenario may result.

You are correct but the little Korean leprechaun seems to want to go one on one with the United States in order to show His citizens he is important. It will be interesting to watch.

If we sent him Michael Jackson's body, we could kill two birds with one stone.

1) He feels important
2) Clear our airwaves

The economy of North Korea is so bad they would probably eat the body.

Pretty sure they got cash in addition to a visit from Clinton. North Korea is desperate for dough and recognition.

He had a thing for Elvis, not MJ.
