So, let me get this straight (if I can): You say in your first post that you're afraid of Communism, then you say that earlier American involvement could have potentially saved 10,000,000 lives. I do not disagree with that assumption. Earlier American involvement most likely would have saved lives.

...however, are you aware many of those lives would have been Communists? Recent estimates are that upwards of 27 million Soviets died during WWII; 13 million of them being soldiers. The Soviets held off Hitler at Stalingrad; they survived the siege of Leningrad. For two years prior to D-Day, Stalin had been practically begging the West to send help, yet we did nothing militarily until after Pearl Harbor.

How do you reconcile those two divergent opinions of yours?

Only Cowards are afraid of ANYTHING.
I stated that in the whole WWII there were about 25 Million Deaths
which included about 6 Million Jews.
So maybe it could be more but I don't think it was 27 Million Russians.
So you never know maybe Hitler did us a favor
and eliminated many Russians.
Well I guess there could be a Bright side to war
but don't ask the Jewish population
but they also got their own place.

But with a Coward population of 75% Americans
and maybe more during the WWII years.
Who knows if entering the war earlier
would have benefited which side.

THe only problem is that the arms race following the Viet Nam war basically bankrupted the communists. Without the war there is no arms race and instead of the former commies now consuming american good and service at record pace they would still pose a worldwide threat.

Other than that I agree the US lost the Vietnam war. Communism is really flourishing right now and democratic republics dissapating. There were several super powers in the world,
communism bankrupted, all of sudden exactly one super power left-guess who? THe powers that be should def be taking advice from pacifist know nothings as the current plan which finds the US as the only super power left obviously was a gross failure and all of those people died for the cowards for nothing.

The war didn't end in 1972 it ended the day some kid could buy Levis in MOscow legally-sometime in the mid 80's.

THe only problem is that the arms race following the Viet Nam war basically bankrupted the communists. Without the war there is no arms race and instead of the former commies now consuming american good and service at record pace they would still pose a worldwide threat.

And the only problem with that theory is that it's completely incorrect. The arms race had begun under Eisenhower, who tried to keep it in control, but really got going because of Kennedy's "Missle Gap" in the 1960 election.

But even without the arms race, decades of bad Soviet economic policy would have led to the downfall of the Soviet system. We made it happen a little quicker by out-spending them, but it was not worth the expense.

In Vietnam, the French made an entire mess of the situation until they were forced to withdraw from their Indochina colony, leaving a guerrilla war for the Americans to inherit. In the between the wars period in Germany, France occuppied the industrial heartland of western Germany, which made it impossible for the Germans to pay the steep reparations stipulated in the Treaty of Versailles. The Treaty of Versailles was so hated in Germany that one of the first things Hitler did after he invaded France was to blow up the railway car where the treaty had been signed.
