Here is a philosophical dilemma for Enviromentalist nutjobs. Do you cut down a tree that was planted to honor Adolf Hitler?

Is there a plaque, couldn't you just remove the plaque?

They let the tree stand for 70 years. Now they want to cut it down?

The story I read never mentioned any form of signage identifying the tree. It also seemed as if the town just found out the trees significance.

I'd say they just rededicate the tree. It's a freaking tree. It's not as if it was some actually identifiable monument to Hitler. How many people have walked by that tree and never realized its history.

I never was able to confirm it, but in Ukraine I heard there is a small town that still has a park named Hitler Square.

I understand why this happened back then---the Nazis were considered liberators as opposed to Stalin. But, yeah, ummm, maybe you should change the name now.

It looks just like Hitler!!!!

Also, will the environmentalist allow any harm to fall upon the wildlife that calls the Hitler Tree home, like this squirrel.
