The debt crisis in Dubai has caused it to become the focus of world attention. This Middle East city used to be an unremarkable one some ten years ago, while now it is called a "mirage city" which has attracted the world's sight.

Dubai has always claimed to have the "biggest this" and "largest that" (wanna fite wif world crass, world bestest, world lumpar 1 sg? ). However, it isn't satisfied with these accomplishments and continues to create miracles. Here are the 26 architecture miracles in Dubai.

1. Super tall skyscraper: Burj Dubai

The tower, which has cost 80 billion U.S. dollars, is 818 meters high with 162 floors and is 310 meters higher than the 101 tower in Taipei. It started to construct in 2004 and will be finished before the end of December this year.

2. 0-14 Tower

The tower was specially designed for Dubai Business Bay by Reiser + Umemoto Company and Dubai's real estate developer Shahab Lutfi. The 22 floor high tower has two walls, the outside one is made from porous concrete which is specially designed for cooling.

3. Arabian Blade

This is a multi-functional tower which was designed by Claudio Catalano. The inspiration behind the building comes from plants. Arabian Blade will consist of several residential areas, one hotel and a business center.

4. Dancing Tower

The tower is planned to be constructed in the development zone of Dubai Business Bay.

5. Dubai Land Snow Dome

In fact, it's a large-scale indoor ski slope which is one section of the super tourist project Dubai theme park. The project will cost one billion U.S. dollars.

Dubai Marina is the world's biggest artificial wharf which was started in 1998. The inspiration comes from the traditional Venice Waterfront.

12. Dubai Pearl

Dubai Pearl is a mixed-use real estate development in Dubai which is currently under construction. The main building consists of four separate towers connected together at the top to form one skyscraper measuring 300m tall. Construction is due to be completed in 2011.

The Dubai Sport City is a 4 billion U.S. dollar, 4,600,000 m2 mixed-use sports city currently being constructed in Dubai. The city will consist of apartment buildings as well as several sports facilities.

Dubai Towers Dubai is a four tower complex proposed in Dubai. The towers have between 57 and 94 stories and it is believed the tallest will top 400 meters while two others will rise beyond 300 meters.

The installing work of Dubai Hydro Polis was completed in Germany. At the end of 2006, it became a part of the Dubai water front.

19. Palm Island

The Palm Island consists of three palm shape man-made islands. The islands are the Palm Jumeirah, the Palm Jebel Ali and the Palm Deira.
