As somebody who saw the episode I can say that this thread is based on a bullshit comment. He did not say that he wishes Cheney was dead. He did say that fewer people would die if he was dead which can't really be proven one way or the other but he never said he wishes him to be dead. Personally I think the comment isn't very smart considering it is nothing but speculation but to just jump to a conclusions to start a very uncivilized discussion such as this isn't very productive and is a good example of why many are discouraged with this site.

LOL! I so love when people adopt propaganda when they didn't see the comments made. What Bill Maher actually asked was why Arianna Huffington removed a post from her blog that said it was too bad that the bombs missed Cheney. He didn't voice his agreement with that. He was talking about a First Amendment issue. This one of "us guys" thinks both Ann Coulter's comments and Bill Maher's comments were in poor taste. I seriously doubt either represent the viewpoints of any but the lunatic fringe of either side of the political spectrum. |

To the one who likes to admonish me for labelling her ...... I'd say most people are comfortably in the middle, either leaning to the left or right. I'd also say if Bill Maher had wished Dick Cheney dead, I'd have thought that extreme. But having seen the episode, it isn't what he said (though it was certainly open to that type of misinterpretation). I was listening to Scarborough talk about it last night (since he was also on the panel when Maher made his comments) and he had the same take on the statement as I do... so I'm in pretty good conservative company. |

and this is why no real americans take liberal Democrats seriously when they say they can protect the country from islamic radicals. As long as the general public know the left feels this way they will continue to elect whoever the republican nominee is. Varus Do explain also who the "general public," "real Americans" and I'm assuming "unreal Americans" are. |

It's a true shame that you Libs still have NO CLUE as to who the enemies of the U.S. are. I guess it's good for you that you weren't around in the Civil War days, eh? |
