I was unable to find a thread about this, so I will start one. US "Vice" President Dick Cheney was visiting an US base in Afghanistan when some headnappy-wearer decided to go and get his virgins in Paradise - right in front of the base.
http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/worl...hp&oref=slogin Apparently 19 people were less lucky than Dick "fat-ass" Cheney. Hope he could go and get a look of the maimed bodies and terrified survivors. Maybe he got a slight impression of what his artillery- and cluster-bomb-parties in Iraq meant for the Baghdad suburbians. |

At least 19 people have been killed and 10 injured in a suicide attack outside Afghanistan's main US base during a visit by US Vice-President Dick Cheney.

Today's attack was not the first apparently aimed at a top US official in the country. In January last year, a militant blew himself up in Uruzgan province, killing 10 Afghans, during a supposedly secret visit by the US ambassador. Could you explain your comment a bi further? What security breach are you referring to? OK, I'll assume you're not taking the piss.
Cheney wasn't scheduled to be there. Bad weather forced his relocation. Yet the Taliban hit the location , a location where attacks are rare, and telephoned the BBC to tell them all about it. Then, as the other link points out, the Ambassador was also attacked last year at a , supposedly, secret location. So, the Taliban know the whens and the wheres of 'high profile' visitors. Something leaks. That's an opinion, obviously. I don't work for the Taliban. Lol. |

Where exactly was the point were I was "disappointed" about "fat-ass" Cheney surviving? I actually feel kind of bad for the suicide bomber. I mean, you go through all that planning, build your bomb device, and then blow yourself into tiny pieces in Allah's name. And Allah can't even grant you success. Do you still get the virgins when you fail? Matt |

Your opening post seems kinda, well, glum that he survived. Perhaps youre not disappointed. IF not, then I apologize. |
