Democratic Party boss Howard Dean demanded that Republican presidential candidates denounce conservative columnist Ann Coulter after she referred to Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards as a "faggot" during a speech Friday at a national conservative gathering.
Coulter, who was addressing the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C., said: "I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word "faggot," so I — so kind of an impasse, can't really talk about Edwards." Fox News Perhaps I'm wrong, but I am fairly certain that this isn't the person who should be representing conservatism in America. I am actually surprised that CPAC invited her back this year being that last year she referred to all Muslims as ragheads and there were Muslim Republicans in the audience, not to mention quite a bit across the country. But then, watching the video, a lot of people seem to be applauding her comments. Ann Coulter is basically the right wing doppelgänger to Michael Moore. I think they both take part in stunts like this to call attention to themselves and sell books / movies. She isn't to be taken seriously. I doubt whether the lady represents conservatism. Conservatism in my book is for limited government, pay as you go if at all possible, look after the needy but not the greedy and leave people alone. That's not what I see in today's so-called conservatives who want to look in my bedroom window, make medical decissions for me, start wars and runup the national debt. I left them long ago to the bitches called Anne Coulter,

Sam, you are right on the money and, IMHO, she is far worse than what Moore would be for the Dems (Moore was actually an anti-Dem Nader backer in 2000, something he likes to skip mentioning to his audiences when making his claims why Gore lost in 2000). Moore is smart enough in clips that I've seen to avoid direct social and ethnic slurs and epithets. I'm just waiting for the day this idiot Coulter calls somebody a 'dumb welfare 'whose the daddy' coon' or 'banana boat' or 'wetback' or something similar or worse. She speaks and thinks like malicious gutter trash and proves that having advantages by birth such as a very wealthy and socially and politically connected background and formal education does not guarantee personal class or enlightenment. You can find the same kinds of ignoramuses sitting drunk on cocktails at the country club bar in the wealthy suburbs as the meanest bars in the rough and poor sections of the city or countryside. It looks much worse for television shows like FOX and conservative conventions to use her so often knowing theser things about her because the natural conclusion for other will be that her views and prejudice obviously must reflect the group or show because they want her knowing full well how she thinks.

The left and liberals hate her because she can nail yer ass to the wall in one sentence and not allow you any wiggle room. bashing? How many votes would that help get down South? And would it motivate others to vote against people and groups who think that? (For the record those are not my sentiments at all--it is a hypothetical so please do not read into it ) |
