The two leading candidates for the Republican nomination for president are divorced. They have had more than one wife.
This is a violation of the actual text of the popular bumper sticker. The point is that the tolerance of divorce is a giant hypocritical hole in the collective logic of a party that claims to be the defenders of the institution of marriage. It also shows their reliance on trite slogans to control groups of simple-minded people. |

The two leading candidates for the Republican nomination for president are divorced. They have had more than one wife. Personally, I am in favor of legal recognized gay unions. But I am opposed to changing the meaning of the word 'marriage'. AFAIC, A marriage is between one man and one woman. When an existing marriage ends by divorce or death, either party to the defunct marriage is eligible for another marriage. Of course, in the case of death, only the living party is eligible for remarriage. However, the dead partner can vote as long as he/she is a registered Democrat. ![]() |

Not at all. It is merely a nuanced position. Any liberal should understand nuance. PS: I also support dead Democrats voting. |

I'll bet you don't have one of those stickers on your car, however, and the people that do don't support civil unions. They're defending the country against a radical gay agenda. ![]() ![]() Even homophobes know that the 'radical gay agenda' is not about getting people to switch teams!! It is to simply allow homosexual couples to enjoy the same rights at married people vis a vis taxation, insurance, etc.... I really don't understand the outrage about it. If two people love each other, its usually a good thing, no? PS - I view bumbers stickers the same way I do tatoos - they are fine for others, just not for me. |
