Honestly, I'm not sure who Soros is. But, I'm never surprised what people will do with their money, regardless of what they claim their political affiliation to be.
George Soros is the $$$ behind MoveOn.org

Seems kinda of, well, interesting for this "progressive" to be investing 60 million dollars into evil Haliburton...

I wonder how certain people here who are big MoveOn supports feel about their patron being a war profiteer?

Has anybody got any links to Soros dissing Haliburton? Does anybody know what he thinks of them, or are you ASSuming that because he supports moveon.org that he not a capitalist? I'd say that his $8 billion fortune suggests he is a full-on capitalist. Typical conservatives - like lumping every centrist/normal/liberal in one without looking into how each individual thinks. This thread is a typical example of such folly...

It's pretty funny really. The lemmings of the left embraced Soros’ because of his support of move-on, which really is just a failed movment to bring down GWB. They ignore that in fact he IS what they hate most.

Soros has given millions to MoveOn, who have certainly had a lot to say about Halliburton:

https://pol.moveon.org/donate/halliburton.html

http://www.moveon.org/moveonbulletin...html#section-5.

Oh, by the way, Soros isn't the only "progressive" darling investing in Halliburton. Michael Moore owns 10,000 shares as well: http://www.nationalreview.com/interr...0510250827.asp

Absent an on-record comment from Soros talking about Halliburton, I suppose it is not truly fair to call him a flaming hypocrite.

However, MoveOn is in a completely different boat there. Given their very public stance on Halliburton, I cannot see any honest out for them apart from returning Soros' cash and cutting all ties.

Soros, like most people who make fortunes, is a Liberal, who believes in free open societies and has already given over a billion dollars to programs that promote democracy in eastern Europe.

What his plans are for Halliburton is anyones guess, it's a free open society.

Now most people who inherit fortunes are Conservative, because they have the money, and they want to hang onto it, because they have no clue how to make it from scratch.

And organizations which take money from someone who owns $60,000,000 in Halliburton stock while simultaneously producing commercials about how horrible Halliburton is are morally bankrupt.

I haven't seen that commercial.

Did you see the one where Bush has the big "mission Accomplished" sign?
I think a few hundred thousand people got killed in the production of that commercial, thank god no one who matters got hurt.

A finding of a filing done by the SEC has been uncovered by I assume an American Investigative reporter, not a Liberal one, and it shows George Commie Soros has sunk 64 million into Halliburton!! Soros is also heavy into off shore drilling, even though I thought he opposed such things!

Soros and other Commies like Terreeeazzza Kerry, and Fat Moore, are reaping billions off a free Economy, a Capitalist Economy, while enjoying OUR way of life, and trashing America!

GET A ROPE!!!!

Sure did - thought it sucked, too.

Got anything to say on the actual topic, instead of trying the usual bullshit of shifting to Bush?

Maybe he just wants access to their books so he can pass the juicy stuff on to the Senate and House subcommittees investigating Halliburton. Or better still, maybe he wants a seat on the board so he can vote against re-hiring Cheney in 2009. Maybe he wants to do a leveraged buyout, and fire all Cheney's cronies, and make Halliburton into an American company.
It's his money, let him do what he wants with it.

That would be rich if Soros bought a majority position, all the top executives would be donating money to Hillary and Obama in the next election cycle, or kissing their jobs goodby.
Ain't gonna happen sunshine as Halliburton does not need COMMUNIST leaders or pussy Liberals anywhere near their company! Cheney will never go back to Halliburton, as the rumor is that Bush will not surrender the White House, and Cheney will be assistant King!!
