Default PC Correct and Ultra Left Soros invests 64 million in Halliburton
A finding of a filing done by the SEC has been uncovered by I assume an American Investigative reporter, not a Liberal one, and it shows George Commie Soros has sunk 64 million into Halliburton!! Soros is also heavy into off shore drilling, even though I thought he opposed such things!

Soros and other Commies like Terreeeazzza Kerry, and Fat Moore, are reaping billions off a free Economy, a Capitalist Economy, while enjoying OUR way of life, and trashing America!

GET A ROPE!!!!

So he's doing the same thing most Republicans do? Who would have guessed!

You do know that Cheney ran Halliburton before he was Vice-P right?
You do know that Rummy helped sell hard water to North Korea right?
You do know that Bush ran his oil company into the ground right?

I think the point he is trying to make is that the liberals have made a habit of criticizing Halliburton, and meanwhile here comes a top liberal to invest. Which indicates hypocrasy. Will Soros privately funded liberal talk radio now criticize him like they criticized halliburton? Doubtful.

Maybe he just wants access to their books so he can pass the juicy stuff on to the Senate and House subcommittees investigating Halliburton. Or better still, maybe he wants a seat on the board so he can vote against re-hiring Cheney in 2009. Maybe he wants to do a leveraged buyout, and fire all Cheney's cronies, and make Halliburton into an American company.
It's his money, let him do what he wants with it.

That would be rich if Soros bought a majority position, all the top executives would be donating money to Hillary and Obama in the next election cycle, or kissing their jobs goodby.

Oh, bullshit. If he wanted access to the books, he would have bought $30.00 worth of stock, not $60,000,000.00.

So will MoveOn be shunning Soros now? How about his money?

It's gotta suck to go out and protest "war profiteers" for an organization that is essentially controlled by one. That has to leave one feeling gullible and used.

You're kidding, right? Since when does a liberal think it's ok to do what one wants with their own money? Liberals want that money, don't they?

Maybe you're not a liberal, just going by the Avatar and state.

ROFLMFAO!!!!

Yeah, he's buying a controlling interest...

There are ~ 1,060,000,000 shares of common Haliburton stock (http://stocks.us.reuters.com/stocks/...ments&period=Q)

Soros bought 1,900,000 shares.

0.2% is one heck of a controlling interest.

Halliburton has a market cap of 30 billion.
Soros is worth 8 billion, and he controls a lot of hedge funds, it's not inconceivable that he could put a leveraged buy out together.
And starting the effort by buying a couple of million shares is just how it would begin.

Since when is buying stock an endorsement of a companies' policies, executives, or morality?

I thought stocks were bought in order to try and make a buck.

No, no.

We've heard from a number of our folks here about "war profiteers" and how horrible and evil they are.

Soros is making money off the same company now.

So where are those posters now?

I disagree...if he doesn't own enough stock to make decisions, then he won't be heard.

The left are/will making bullshit excuses IMO......Just face the facts, we are all fucked by both sides.

Honestly, I'm not sure who Soros is. But, I'm never surprised what people will do with their money, regardless of what they claim their political affiliation to be.
