This is funny. An airline employee escorted Al and his entourage around security screening. But it's ok, they took him back and made him walk through security.

He could have been planning to hold the flight hostage with a Granola bomb or some sharpened bean sprouts, then subjecting them to a three hour Global Warming lecture. Only then could the flight continue, after extracting a promise from each passenger to plant a tree as a carbon-emissions-offset. Matt |

My concern is that an airline employee would do this for a terrorist. Probable cause for what? You're post makes no sense. What the heck are you talking about? |

Wow good thing they screened Al Gore before he got on the plane. I feel so much safer. Are you suggesting that airport screenings should be something other than completely random or mandatory? What makes Al Gore less of a risk than you or me? ANY answer to that question would involve the dreaded PROFILING!!!! Which we are supposed to believe is just plain wrong! |

Anyone actually read the story? It doesn't appear to me that Gore requested that security be by-passed - does it to you? Did he decline the special treatment? Or was he unaware that people are generally required to go through security measures? Wouldn't that make Al Gore "out of touch"? Curly But the thing I noticed ... Al Gore was catching a flight on a commercial jet!! I got the impression (in another Gore-bashing thread) that the guy only flew on private jets. Well, first of all, I don't think anyone has ever said he ONLY flys private jets, merely that he DOES fly on private jets frequently (for nothing more than his own convenience). But, I would be willing to bet heavily that even when flying commercially, he is slamming his fat ass down in first class....representing a bigger carbon footprint than those flying coach! And speaking of Al's fat ass...wonder how much of a carbon footprint all of the food he is apparently consuming is leaving behind! |
