I think that depends on how you count t6he time, in total time? or five or seven days in a row, I think percentage wise they have been in session far more that the Rep controled house.

And this is why things with our government are so screwy... past and present. Chrissake put down the pina coladas and get to work! Looks like they are trying different things and this new policy is still under the works. I believe that they are trying a two weeks on-week off in the district thing right now. It probably puts more hours than Bush ever has in his whole time in office thus far...

Three or four days a week is what the video says. This seems to be about the same as the past Congress.

IIRC, there was criticism. The point here is conflict between the short weeks and campaign claims that this would be halted with the new Congress.

I'm actually not surprised. To be a little fair though, the Republican controlled Congress was showing up Tuesday evening and leaving Thursday afternoon. These Dems are averaging 3.5 days a week, but the Reps were averaging a little over 2 days a week. Both are below the national average.

Yes, I agree...they are about the same as before...but the current difference is the Speaker pledging at every truckstop and Waffle House on the campaign trail that she would END that and that a 5-day work week is a PROMISE!

Well this week they are debating till midnight while all the House members speak for 5 minutes each on the resolution against Bush's war escalation.

So how many hours are those 3 or 4 days made up of?

In any case, they are working more now than when the Repubs had control. And I would like to see them work 5 days a week. Or at least 40 hours like the rest of us.

The video says there were 45 votes so far compared to this time last year there were 13.

The video shows they have mostly been 4 day work weeks compared to last year just Tuesday through Thursday work weeks.

The last congress was a failure on the border, an issue that to anyone with a brain needs almost no elucidation on the clear answer to the problem. Though I generally distrust Democrats, as well as Republicans, I guess it's fair to give them longer than a couple of months to tally their work weeks. I mean, the Republicans were given six years.
