Welcome to the board truthbetold. So much for that now on Topic as you seem not to be! Cut the number of barrels? OK, add about $25 a barrel excise tax on, and see what the responce would be? Lets get rolling on a couple of more refineries, with NO tax incentives to Shell or Exxon! Screw Greenpeace and ELF and all their Liberal-Socialist brothers and sisters, this is the Nation of Adult Christians and decent people, not Leftist assholes and queers!! Nothing personal as Samantha is my Board girlfriend! (Sandra Bullock) Your gonna have to LIKE me, sqeeze me, hold me |

There has been some speculation that the Saudis were over producing in order to drive prices down and cause economic problems for the Iranians. When the some White House official was asked about this, he was smirking as he dodged the question.

I find THAT to be far more useful and profitable than attempting to build an electric go-cart. So what if it had a very short range and was completely useless in the cold? Only people who live in cities where it is warm need cars anyway. Screw everyone else! Matt |

No, no, the electric car was the solution to every problem on earth. ...You know what? Sorry libs...I didn't mean to insult you. I apologize. I shouldn't say things about you that are not true. It was very mean and insensitive of me to suggest any belief in God. Back to the point. Iron, where do you think the energy comes from that would allow you to charge your electric car? And please don't come back with "well, we should have alternative sources like wind power, solar power and cow farts" because those are not cost effective yet. You wouldn't be able to afford your electric car if you had to rely on those sources for the energy...not to mention their is no infrastructure. And please stop with the Al Gore would have fixed everything crap. The hot air coming from Al Gore is the true cause of global warming. Bottom line is the Saudis are going to do what is best for them. We wouldn't do anything different. I'm not saying I like it but it's the way thing are. You want to do something about it? Allow the energy companies to make whatever profit they need so they can research and develop new and alternative energy sources. Allow then to build new plants and refineries. Keep the government and the environmental brain stems out of it. As several other posters have said, the Democrats have done more to keep this country reliant on foreign oil than any Bush/Saudi tinfoil hat conspiracy ever could. |

We generate much of our electricity by burning oil. And the liberals (i.e., the Democrat Party) keeps voting against expanding the extraction of our oil, and keeps voting against building new refineries, and keeps voting against building new coal-fired electrical power plants (thereby saving our oil for our motor vehicles) and keeps voting against building new nuclear electrical power plants. So in reality it's the Democrat Party which has us by the balls, Samantha. |

OK so the Republicans on this board aren't worried about the Saudis manipulating oil prices and electric cars with solar electric power is a stupid idea. |

OK so the Republicans on this board aren't worried about the Saudis manipulating oil prices and electric cars with solar electric power is a stupid idea. The Saudi's have been trying to manipulate the price of oil for the past six months, to no effect. They're now increasing their reduction even more in an attempt to keep the price of oil above 55%. However, this puts them in two bad spots: 1. The overwhelming burden of these OPEC cuts fall disproportionately on Saudi Arabia, something they will be willing to tolerate only for a short period of time. 2. It helps removes them from their role as the global "swing producer", as it means that SA is producing less than 10% of the oil supplied daily. So... no, I don't worry about the Saudi's manipulating oil prices. |

It's hilarious that if we ever bring up oil prices, gas prices, energy in general, the typical liberal response is the electric car. We all should be driving them. What's wrong with you people...don't you care about the environment? Don't you want to be energy independent? Don't you care about your kids future for God's sake? |

Are you saying that Republicans didn't have control of the Congress for the past 12 years and the white House for the past 6 years? |

I hear wind power at this point is actually farther along and working better than solar. So far. I think we need to push progress along a little harder so we can solve these huge problems of Mid East oil dependency and the pollution caused by burning fossil fuels which is warming the earth. I saw an article of the San Jose Mercury News a few weeks ago which showed that in the 70's the earth was actually cooling and that we needed to find a way to change that. It actually showed each year and whether the earth cooled of heated up each year. In the 70's about 10 in a row were blue suggesting cooling. Then in the 80's its red all the way to the current year. Cars are only a small part of the problem. |

I though Bush controlled oil prices? I'm so confused. One day the libs say the price is controlled by Bush, the next day it's controlled by someone else.
Truthbetold, wind power cost 10% more in New Mexico. A great place was found for wind turbines, that would not affect ANY migratory birds. But the Kennedy's don't want them near their house. I guess their ocean view is more important than the environment. Problem with wind turbines is maintenance costs are very high. They are exposed to such serious climates that they wear out pretty quickly. Relatively speaking. They constantly need reoiling, repainting, rewiring and more. I use to sell the products, to PNM, to repair and service these. |
