A corrupt Republican politician being sentenced is so common now a days that hardly anyone notices. In the next two years, you can bet you will see a lot more corrupt Republicans being sentenced, because there are a lot in the pipeline and because the Democrats now have the ability to investigate a whole lot of stinky deals that the GOP majority declined to investigate and I seriously doubt that those deals involved many Democrats.
Yeah, I think the Republicans kept their bribes and dirty business all to themselves in the last 6 years.
There will be at least a few more held accountable I hope. From the OP:

Among those still under scrutiny for their ties to Abramoff are former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas; former Sen. Conrad Burns, R-Mont.; Rep. John Doolittle, R-Calif.; Steven Griles, a former deputy secretary at the Interior Department, and Italia Federici, a political fundraiser for former Interior Secretary Gale Norton.

Right - because the Dems have been out of power. Only a moron bribes someone who cannot do anything.

Now that the Dems are running the show, the bribe money will be flowing to that side of the house. Keep an eye on William Jefferson's fridge.

The people who think corruption is the exclusive domain of one party or the other make me laugh.....

Let's not forget that Ney was author of the 'Help America Vote Act' (aka; 'Let the E-Voter Corps Determine the Elections Act.'

Yes, you forgot to list the Democrats involved as well, Sam.
Why don't you go ahead and list them?

Oops! There aren't any Dems involved in the Abramoff scandal! Abramoff didn't work with Dems.

You must be confused with the Dems that helped the Indian tribes but had nothing to do with Abramoff.

Nope, as the article says, the only ones under scrutiny for dealing with this crook are:

Among those still under scrutiny for their ties to Abramoff are former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas; former Sen. Conrad Burns, R-Mont.; Rep. John Doolittle, R-Calif.; Steven Griles, a former deputy secretary at the Interior Department, and Italia Federici, a political fundraiser for former Interior Secretary Gale Norton.

Ney's downfall was that he wanted to be percieved as a big-shot and live beyond his means even if it meant breaking the rules. That pride thing got him into trouble.

You people crack me up every time you open the door into your own noses like this!

Not a single Democrat, eh? How about Dingy Harry Reid? Plus 6 to 8 other Democrats Abramoff has chirped up testimony against. Learn the facts of these things, Sam, most Democrats are just as corrupt as William Jefferson Democrat, Louisiana.

Nope Harry Reid wasn't involved with Abramoff, just the Indian tribes because he was involved with the tribes in his committee. Who are the 6 to 8 other democrates? You don't have names do you? Because there aren't any. Face it todd, it's all republicans in the Abramoff scandal.

Here ya go!

The Blotter

The names of the others haven't been released, but it has been reported, and by the Liberal drive-by media, you think they can do no wrong, right?

I am curious, how do you Libs even think you can keep up with people as smart as I am, face it, you're out of your league.

The names haven't been released because they are not under investigation. They are just names that Abramoff has spouted.

Sources close to the federal investigation say Abramoff has offered testimony about his contacts with "six to eight seriously corrupt Democratic senators" and an ever larger number of Republican members of Congress. This is from your link. And there are no democrats under scrutiny because of Abramoff's testimony, only republicans. Sorry to burst your bubble smart guy.

Careful Sam, you're getting a little shaky here. So I take it you're an investigator in this case and know for a fact that they aren't under investigation?

ABC News: Abramoff turning in 6 to 8 'seriously corrupt DEMOCRATIC senators' & Karl Rove | Redstate

This is from your link. And there are no democrats under scrutiny because of Abramoff's testimony, only republicans. Sorry to burst your bubble smart guy. You haven't burst anything. I've proven that there are Democrats in hot water as well, and what will you do when Dingy Harry goes down in flames? He may not over this, but he might over those illegal land dealings in NV. Maybe he and William Jefferson Democrat, Louisiana might be able to share a cell together, you think?

Of course there are going to be a few Democrats in the parade of guilty pleas, but few and far between, thanks to Tom DeLay, who refused to do business with any lobbying firm that helped Democrats and insisted that the spoils be shared only within the GOP.

And the list is going to get longer, because the GOP is no longer in the position to block the investigations of things like the "rebuilding of Iraq".
So get ready for a steady stream of uncovered GOP corruption, with the occasional allegation against a Democrat popping up.

Typical rhetoric from someone being happily represented by "The Swimmer" and someone else who has yet to be honest about his service in Vietnam, that can't make up their minds on where they stand. I would say that it's unfortunate that Republicans get caught up in these things, however, compared to the corrupt Democrats, corrupt Republicans are a very small minority. We need more people like me running the country, we would all be better off!

It will be interesting to see whether the dems take a leaf out of delay's book and employ the same tactics with K street that he did. Denying your opponents access to all that cash must be a very attractive proposition. I'm also waiting to see whether dems at the state level will employ gerrymandering as blatantly as republicans have recently in order to make their congressional seats safer. Of course the mot egregious examples were in texas and I don't know if dems will ever be in a position of power there again no matter how the party fares in national elections.
