w backs down on FISA
The recent white house reversal of it's wiretapping behavior raises some interesting questions. The first question is:
if warrantless wiretaps are necessary for our national defense why is w now getting warrants? The national Review had a scathing comment on this aspect. Quote:

The committees will continue to investigate but now republicans can claim they are beating a dead horse for purely political reasons. |
Bush is just playing the system, breaking the law until the law comes after him. Then he stops.

Well, one of the defining characteristics of Dubya's presidency has been stubborn defiance long past the point of wisdom, followed by complete reversals.
