You know, I wouldn't put it past Bush to think of removing Saddam's head and mounting it in the Oval Office ... thats exactly the sort of idiot he is. Not so sure about consuming the flesh, but I agree with the sentiments behind your remark. I suspect that Mr Bush will like most if us, laugh his ass off at the demise of sub-spieces who will be spittin, waving his arms, and other unpleasenties, swings in the air!....................YEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! Thanks Howard....Howard Dean everyone |

The deed isn't done yet, but let me say the following.
1. If this isn't at the US bidding, how is it that it has gone thus far and he is still in US custody? However: 2. I'm not at all sure that the Iraqis would freely choose to carry it out And it aint over til......" 3. If carried out, it will be done for punishment rather than to keep more from happening. and I happen to be opposed to the death penalty as a punishment 4. I am for the death penalty in some circumstances, but only as a public protection, and under as humane a way as possible. Hanging is barbaric. |

Apparently the Iraqi government will execute Saddam within 48-72 hours, which is right before the Eid holiday in the Islamic religion. Saddam sensed the execution was imminent when the radio in his cell was removed, and he has met with two half-brothers to pass on his final letters, etc. I don't know why but I read that and got this horrible sense of foreboding. Not about Saddam, but about repercussions. I hope my intuition is messed up. |
