Really? You dont think they are sexist against conservative women? Did McCain get front page articles about how much his suits cost? Here we go: First Lady Michelle Obama steps out in Lanvin sneakers and they're only $540! Oh, wait, crap. |

Bachman and Palin has done something that in the future we will thank them for. They have shown what progressives really think of woman with strength of character. Bachmann is a joke, trying to appeal to uneducated voters, of which we have way too many. I doubt she actually personally raised all of those adopted kids either. Afterall wasn't she some sort of tax attorney, a profession she indulged in instead of staying home and raising those kids? And being a tax person, she damn well knows of the special exemptions and loopholes in the tax codes that at times only benefit one company. Wasn't she against going after these loopholes? Wonder why? Oh, that would mean more tax revenues and we sure as hell can't have that! China needs more investment... |

What about Pelosi? Gee, you're right, I never saw an unflattering picture of any Democratic Woman, yet every picture I see of Republican women make them look crazy, they all seem to have this insane look, and when they open their mouth, crazy comes out. So microphones are just as bad as the cameras........ or that: |

Honestly? I like the second one better. But I happen to have a thing for brunettes with glasses - I'll even admit it, I think Palin is kinda cute for that reason. As for the OP, the cover is obviously unflattering but to blame it on a wide-ranging campaign of sexism or partisanship on the part of Newsweek would take a bit more evidence. I think it was Speakeasy that pointed out it's anti-Bachmann, if nothing else. |

Is it me, or is US politics getting more and more petty? Pictures convey a powerful message, and it's true that a picture is worth a thousand words. That picture of Bachmann makes her look like a deranged wacko. The picture is obviously intended to discredit her. It's a cheap shot. Would Newsweek have done that to a male candidate comparable to Bachmann? I think they would. I think their intention was more political than sexist. |

It's both sexist and anti-Republican. Time and Newsweek are liberal outlets. And liberals hate Conservative woman, they fear them, they can not stand a woman of strength. |

That's a baseless claim. At best, you can say that liberals hate conservative women because they're conservative. Liberals like women of strength, Hillary Clinton, Janeane Garofalo, etc (two women mentioned in this very thread). Oh, and they hate minorities. And they all have cooties. And think Godfather III is the best Godfather movie. |
