China does not have to deal with war vs the US. They can starve the US to death economically. By 2016, it IMF predicts that China economy will overtake that of the US.
America is currently cutting cost because it is leaning on China. I dunno whether China would go down this route, but am sure if would prefer this than going to war with the US. China is always looking at things from an economic perspective. Perhaps it has strong ties with Pakistan economically, and the rebuilding of Afghanistan is being done by the Chinese and the Turks,..... African contracts are more or else given to the Chinese,... China wants to bailout some european countries as well etc and its relationship with the next two big economies namely India and Brazil is very good. Oh and Russia of course! WS. |

"China has officially put the United States on notice that Washington’s planned attack on Pakistan will be interpreted as an act of aggression against Beijing. This blunt warning represents the first known strategic ultimatum received by the United States in half a century, going back to Soviet warnings during the Berlin crisis of 1958-1961, and indicates the grave danger of general war growing out of the US-Pakistan confrontation.

So China now supports a safe haven for terrorists in Pakistan? Post Taliban attack on naval base, China won’t invest in new Pakistan port - The Economic Times So When China doesn't build new port facilities in Pakistan it can claim it didn't do so becasue it no longer had the need to check U.S. aggression. |

If a war erupted between the US and China it would be a full-scale war just short of a nuclear war and we would brush them aside very easily in a situation like that. We would send them right back to the stone age in short order. However, the after math would destroy the US and global economies because many countries are dependent on Chinese slave labor. In the end the whole world would suffer a setback that we really would not recover from.
While a military victory is assured, we would lose everywhere else and this is why China's "warning" is nothing more than showmanship. They are doing nothing more than working with America's right-wing business elite to create more fear to help republicans get elected so they can continue to benefit from a seriously imbalanced trade agreement. |

China is a clear and present danger as they build up their blue water navy. They were always a grave threat, and now that we have allowed American business to enable them, for personal profit, and we continue to do that, this will only get worse over time.
There ain't much our business folks won't do for more profits. They will even weaken their home nation. And you think these jackwags should not be regulated? We used to not enable Communists. They used to be our enemies until business saw them as a source of slave labor to fatten up bottom lines. Money talks, when the cook is out of the kitchen. And we have not had a cook in the kitchen doing their jobs since business once again got back the ability to write public and trade policy. Yep, in this case here, those corporations lusting after wealth are indeed EVIL. |

There ain't much our business folks won't do for more profits. Some folks do favor the dollar over everything else. The Chinese economy still depends on selling cheap crap to the U.S. and our paying them back for loans. Hostilities break out...the loan repayments are jeopardized and no cheap crap gets to be sold on our shores. So much for Chinese growth. |

They don't have to. All they have to do is make a show of force, and Obama will back down because he's utterly clueless. Your blind hatred for Obama has made you take at face value an article from the EU Times. The what? Yeah, the EU Times. Go click on their other links and come back to us about Obama's planned invasion of Pakistan (hint, their other big headline is that Dominique Strauss Kahn claims that Putin planted the maid in his hotel. You can find that under the 'zionism' subsection of the illustrious EU Times.) Pakistan is an unsavory ally of the US on the war on terror, that we have had to at times bring back in line, and who we have bombed with drone attacks, and whose sovereignty we have overlooked when going in for OBL. I'm not sure how that counts as 'backing down' in your books. So please explain in your own words, without rellying on the EU times, axactly what Obamas plans vis a vis Pakistan are, and what exactly he would thus 'back down' from after China's "threat". |
