We as tea party members and conservatives didn't give the house back to Republicans to "negotiate" with Harry Reid or Barack Obama--as Michelle Bachman claimed tonight.
Americans are very serious about cutting the size of the Federal Government-along with their wreckless spending.-as was witnessed during the election in November 2010 An historic 75 year loss to democrats and big spending. Now if REPUBLICANS blow it here--they're TOAST--because 80% of the American public doe not TRUST the Federal Government or their elected officials--they trust their next door neighbor, or the Tea party movement in this country more. So either Republicans cut pork RIGHT NOW--if they have to shut this monstrosicity down-(do it)--or they can cut bait. They promised 100 billion this year in cuts--and they're only asking for 61 BILLION out of a 3.7 TRILLION dollar budget- or less than 2% of the budget-and if they don't stick to the promises they made--then they risk their own political careers. To hell with Harry Reid and Barack Obama. 80 Percent of Americans Don't Trust the Government. Here's Why - Derek Thompson - Business - The Atlantic This years budget was supposed to be passed last year when Obama had a FULL house--with Pelosi--Reid and this years budget-which was due on October 1, 2010 which was THEIR responsiblity. As a political ploy tDemocrats decided to kick this can down the road and now the house Republicans have had to deal with it. This in an effort or attempt to reinact 1995 when Newt Gingrich did it to Bill Clinton and Clinton's popularity gained after a government shut-down. THIS IS NOT 1995. To date--the house is asking for a MERE 61` BILLION dollar cut out of a 3.7 TRILLION dollar budget or less than 2%. (Thats the equivalent of me handing you $5000.00 dollars and asking you to cut $8.00 out of your spending. And if Republicans haven't got the Cahonnes to stand firm here--then screw them too. Currently the federal government is borrowing .43 cents out of every dollar it spends. So what is a TRILLION DOLLARS? The equivalent of spending ONE BILLION DOLLARS per day since the birth of Christ. We are now at a 14.3 TRILLION dollar deficit--and DEMOCRATS are fighting over 61 billion out of a 3.7 TRILLION dollar budget this year? I've had enough of this B.S--and if Boehner--and others (Republicans) don't demand that 61 BILLION be taken out of a 3.7 TRILLION dollar budget then-I am moving to another country--and I'll be taking my wealth and taxr dollars with me. Attachment 11104 Now up to 14.3 trillion. One Trillion dollars is the equivalent of spending ONE BILLION dollars a DAY since the birth of CHRIST. |

Or you can try this site:
What does one TRILLION dollars look like? All this talk about "stimulus packages" and "bailouts"... A billion dollars... A hundred billion dollars... Eight hundred billion dollars... One TRILLION dollars... What does that look like? I mean, these various numbers are tossed around like so many doggie treats, so I thought I'd take Google Sketchup out for a test drive and try to get a sense of what exactly a trillion dollars looks like. We'll start with a $100 dollar bill. Currently the largest U.S. denomination in general circulation. Most everyone has seen them, slighty fewer have owned them. Guaranteed to make friends wherever they go. A packet of one hundred $100 bills is less than 1/2" thick and contains $10,000. Fits in your pocket easily and is more than enough for week or two of shamefully decadent fun. Believe it or not, this next little pile is $1 million dollars (100 packets of $10,000). You could stuff that into a grocery bag and walk around with it. While a measly $1 million looked a little unimpressive, $100 million is a little more respectable. It fits neatly on a standard pallet... And $1 BILLION dollars... now we're really getting somewhere... Next we'll look at ONE TRILLION dollars. This is that number we've been hearing so much about. What is a trillion dollars? Well, it's a million million. It's a thousand billion. It's a one followed by 12 zeros. You ready for this? It's pretty surprising. Go ahead... Scroll down... Notice those pallets are double stacked. ...and remember those are $100 bills. So the next time you hear someone toss around the phrase "trillion dollars"... that's what they're talking about. |

I think you're giving them too much credit, honestly. Republicans who have no back-bone and can't stand up and say YES we're going to cut 61 BILLION out of a 3.7 TRILLION dollar deficit--when I have been doing it all my life. I am going to take my knowledge and experience to another country that actually appreciates it. I just can't take this crap any longer. |

I am DONE. I have been a small-business owner for the past 30+ years--and have employed at least 100 employees over that time. Busted my butt--and have risked everything own--and have paid on average 20 to 30k in federal income tax ALONE--and I am flat done. |

China is very pretty this time of year, known to to be business friendly too, when they not hanging them in the street. b. Same goes for Russia, Germany, buncha of other Euopean countries. Now the Scandinavians are the home of social democracy, so they're out. France and UK are nice but also very SD and probably won't let you in anyway....You could go to Africa, Asia, plenty of vacation spots like Somaliland. In other words, shut up and pay up. Your sort have gotten a free ride for nigh on two decades now. You used it to buy overpriced houses and oversized Hummers instead of managing well and saving for when economic sanity returned. Now it's time to pay the piper cause you'll still never get a better deal than you're getting right here. And the vast majority of Americans couldn't give a flying fuck about the deficit. They're too busy figuring out how not to spend next year living under a bridge, like you want them to. |

So you can't take the THREAT (not the actuality, just the POSSIBLITY) that you might have to pay the same crippling taxes that were paid under Reagan? |

They're apparently using the European Trillion, which is a million billions instead of a thousand. It's a common conservative trick as it's not used in finacial calculations. The only people I know of who do, in fact, are nuclear physicists figuring electron volts and conservative pols when STATING, (but not calculating) the various debts they say we owe. EDIT: This is weird. So, we use the "short scale" numbers. The "long scale" numbers involve "milliards" for our billions, billions for our trillions, billiards (pool, anyone?) for our quadrillions, and trillions for our quintillions. That's confusing as crap. lol |

You paid 20k-30k in federal income tax over 30 years combined? Sounds like a paltry amount to have paid over that long, less than $1k/year. A minimum wage worker pays more than that in FICA every year. Or did you mean you paid $20k-30k per year for 30 years? I have never YET to pay less than 10k per year in Federal income taxes. I think I can get more bang for my buck in another country. This country is ridiculous. THE FACT IS: Our federal government couldn't operate a lemonade stand without driving it into bankruptsy. |
