Wholesale prices up 1.6 pct. on steep rise in food - Yahoo! Finance
This is the true gauge on how fucked up the economy is. The largest increase in 36 years of food prices. So not only is it more expensive to get to work cause of fuel ( Which Obama wants to "Necessarily skyrocket" ) The money we make is now feeding our kids less. Progressive want you to believe things are looking good but every time you go to buy a gallon of milk or a loaf of bread you see the lie. It is getting to the point that we will have to choose between rent or dinner. |

I may be reading this incorrectly, but it seems the increase in food prices has zero to do with the economy and much to do with a rough winter resulting in more bad crops than usual. The US isn't the only country affected by this. |

Since when do we need food in other countries? Answer is we dont. So that excuse is bullshit. EDIT: I was pointing out that this issue isn't unique to the United States, many other countries had rough winters and are also seeing increases in food prices because of a smaller output of crops. On top of that, the rise of oil prices is also factored into the prices of food, another thing that the United States doesn't have a ton of control over and another thing that other countries are feeling the brunt of, too. You started off your post saying this was an indicator of how bad our economy is doing, when it has little to do with the US economy. |

Our food prices do not go up cause Africa didn't grow wheat. If we have a much smaller number of crops to put on the market, then those crops will be in higher demand and the price will reflect that, regardless of how well the economy is doing. |

I know, I didn't say that. Our crops were much less because of a rough winter, so our prices will reflect that. Other countries, say Russia for example, also had harsh winters and they, too, have increased food costs as a result. You were trying to make this a sign of the US economy being bad, when that isn't the case, it's an international issue that many other countries are dealing with, too. If it was specific to the US economy, we would be the only ones dealing with this, but that isn't the case. It's a result of a low output of crops on top of higher oil prices, two things that aren't a reflection of our economy doing well or not and two things that the Obama administration doesn't have much control over. |

Wholesale prices up 1.6 pct. on steep rise in food - Yahoo! Finance Oh, and I LOVE the part where you throw in "our kids", like you would EVER give Obama credit for being concerned about "our kids", while you'll swear to the bitter end that you DO care about "our kids" and that's why you make a career out of attacking Obama. Get over yourself, get into being part of solving problems, instead of being the problem. |

Your desire to blame Obama for anything is obvious to most here. You're not interested in fair-minded dialogue at all. |

that would depend on which side of MSNBC your on wouldn't it? If what you say is true that Obama cant get any blame then he gets no praise when things go good right? I never watch television. I couldn't care less what anyone on MSNBC or Fox or any other TV channel says. I'm participating on this board, and so are you, and at the moment -- since I'm engaging you in conversation -- I care what you say. You and nobody else. Not MSNBC. Not anyone. And YOU are implying that President Obama is omnipotent and can ensure a bountiful harvest purely by willpower. Certainly not by presidential authority, since he has none applicable to the situation, for good or ill. Because unless he is omnipotent and has (and has misused) God-like powers, this entire thread is an exercise in sheer absurdity. |
