Well, that's where the American money goes to traffic its insane drug problem.

All I'm saying is that "OMG teh Mexicans r teh scary" is probably not the best strategy when looking at our relationship with our Southern neighbor.
No argument here. One of the best moves we could make is to legalize and regulate marijuana. We could do the same with harder drugs over time, but decriminalization would be a good start.

And that's a different thread, but my stance is mixed at best on that one.

By this logic the Canadians should have mobilized in Windsor by now.

It's a nice bit of fear mongering (I know, I know, that's seemingly all the conservative movement has these days), but the drug wars in Mexico are a Mexican problem. Yes, we contribute to the problem, hugely, but that's another thread.
I think many on the Left do drugs to take their mind off of the scary Conservatives. Always looking over our shoulder, worried that we may be the next on their hit list next. Now, the Cons drink booze in excess to celebrate sticking it to working folks again, and again, and again...which is why they are such alcoholics. They been drinking too much in the last few decades due to the incessant celebrations of putting us in our rightful place, under the table. I hear their new motto is, " Fuck a working man for America". It's the patriotic thing to do.
