Default GOP Extremist
Disappointment fills my heart again. A genuine 2 party system has great potential for our nation, if reason and logic should be possible in both parties? Unfortunately, in my opinion reason and logic is failing in the Republican party this election. Most of my neighbors in Indiana will laugh at the following story (because they are die hard Repubs). Below is an example of the offences the Repubs present me with:

Pennsylvania Jim Roddey, Local GOP County Chair, Compares Obama Supporter To Someone 'Mentally Retarded

At an election night party for state Rep. Randy Vulakovich (R-Shaler), Allegheny County GOP chair and former county executive Jim Roddey fired up a couple hundred local Republicans by noting that Vulakovich had defeated his Democratic opponent by a nearly 50-point margin.
Roddey then segued to a less positive note.
"There was a disappointment tonight. I was very embarrassed," Roddey told the crowd, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "I was in this parking lot and there was a man looking for a space to park, and I found a space for him. And I felt badly -- he looked like he was sort of in distress. And I said, 'Sir, here's a place.' And he said, 'That's a handicapped space.' I said, 'Oh, I'm so sorry, I saw that Obama sticker and I thought you were mentally retarded.'"

Post-Gazette reporter Tim McNulty observed that the crowd "hollered and clapped" in response to the insensitive joke.

Unfortunately, this is the face of the NEW REPUBLICAN PARTY.
They attack people with venom; they do not just attack someone's views or get angry over issues.

They cannot tolerate disagreement. Today it is an Obama supporter, what will it be tomorrow? Do we turn a blind eye to such bad behavior and just wait until we are the target? If we do not stop this now, who will be left when we are the target and we will be…because we are a minority, because we are a woman, because we are a part of the middle class, because we are poor, because we do not own property or just because we think this country should be run by the majority not just the moneyed elite.

This starts to sound more and more like fascism. It must be stopped and stopped now. Oust every Republican now to make room for moderates/to save the country

I sure hope this guy does not try to apologize because this statement is from his heart and soul, the apology will be dishonest.

Dirty politics is probably the second oldest profession and probably dirtier than the first. Dirty politics has been around since the days of our founding fathers. You may find this link of some of the stories about our elected officials rather interesting.

Helen,

The original Republicans were the party of Lincoln, the man who freed the slaves.

Today's Republicans are the party of bullying.

I agree with you Helen. As someone who has a mentally challenged person in my family I find statements like this very offensive. If this is the new Republican Party, I want nothing to do with them. They are not worth my time.
