Default Femen activists arrested over topless protest in Tunisia
Three activists from the feminist group Femen have been arrested after baring their breasts in Tunis in what the group described as its “first topless protest in an Islamic state.”

The women — one German and two French — were detained after taking off their coats outside the Ministry of Justice on May 29, revealing their naked chests scrawled with “Breasts Feed” and “Revolution” and holding signs saying “F**k your morals!” alongside the Femen logo.

They said their action was in support of a 19-year-old Tunisian woman, Amina Tyler, who posted topless pictures of herself online as a form of protest.

Terminology: Tunisia is a democratic republic (albeit a new and untested one), not an Islamic state. It is a majority-Muslim country. The people of that country are also not Islamic; they are Muslim.

You are right of course but whenever someone mentions the words "democratic republic" I can't keep myself from thinking of the official name of North Korea. Anyway, if Wikipedia is to be trusted then the president still has to be a muslim by law.

One of my favorite history professors said if the full name of your country has to have the words "democratic republic" in it, it's probably not one.

Islam is the religion, those who follow it are Muslims. Things (e.g. governments, laws) can be Islamic, but people are always Muslim. To explain the difference further, I'd have to explain how Arabic words derive from their roots.
