Default Contempt law challenged in Lhr Registry
LAHORE: The recently approved contempt law has been challenged in the Lahore Registry of Supreme Court Saturday, Geo News reported.Petitioner Barrister Zafarullah stated that the new contempt law is a conspiracy to limit the powers exercised by the judiciary and an attempt to amend the Constitution. However, Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf will be tried under the contempt law of 2003 and not the new one, as the action was initiated on the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) case under the law of 2003.
