According to reports the passer-bys along with other traders challenged the dacoits, who were wearing police uniforms, during a holdup in Saleem Center, a market area in North Karachi.

The street-crime-stricken masses gave their frustration a full vent by thrashing the looter almost to death before police took them into custody.

The battered as well as unconscious crooks were taken to Abbassi Shaeed Hospital where they were treated for the injuries inflicted upon them by the masses. According to MLO of the hospital the criminals were now out of danger.

On the other hand police have also cracked whip on the street-criminals by arresting at least seventeen including four Lyari gang-war suspects.
