Never thought I'd hear common sense from a European leader. Now, I just wish we could hear it from an American leader again.
Europe is slowly waking up after decades of Socialism, Communism, Liberalism, Multiculturalism, Kookism, Moonbatism, etc. It's amazing to see. America, under Comrade Obama, is headed down the same path Europe took decades ago. America will be a disaster zone just like Europe if it continues down this path. Multiculturalism is something dimwitted Conservatives have preached against for years. No country can survive it. It can't work. It won't work. It will never work. It's impossible. People must be of one culture for a country to survive. All must be commited to the same cultural ideals. Period. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20110210...20110210231042 Multiculturalism has failed, says French president Thu Feb 10, 6:10 pm ET PARIS (AFP) – French President Nicolas Sarkozy declared Thursday that multiculturalism had failed, joining a growing number of world leaders or ex-leaders who have condemned it. "My answer is clearly yes, it is a failure," he said in a television interview when asked about the policy which advocates that host societies welcome and foster distinct cultural and religious immigrant groups. "Of course we must all respect differences, but we do not want... a society where communities coexist side by side. "If you come to France, you accept to melt into a single community, which is the national community, and if you do not want to accept that, you cannot be welcome in France," the right-wing president said. "The French national community cannot accept a change in its lifestyle, equality between men and women... freedom for little girls to go to school," he said. "We have been too concerned about the identity of the person who was arriving and not enough about the identity of the country that was receiving him," Sarkozy said in the TFI channel show. British Prime Minister David Cameron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Australia's ex-prime minister John Howard and Spanish ex-premier Jose Maria Aznar have also recently said multicultural policies have not successfully integrated immigrants. Merkel in October said efforts towards multiculturalism in Germany had "failed, totally." |

One might say he echoed British Prime Minister David Cameron’s declaration of the demise of multiculturalism last week – except Sarkozy spearheaded the rhetoric last summer as France prepared to ban the burqa, the full length veil worn by devout Muslim women. Yet for such a pot-stirring media dervish, Sarkozy is sinking in the polls. He recently cascaded to 24 percent approval, the lowest of his presidency – at a time he’s cultivating an image as an innovative force leading the G-20. “He’s not the image of France, he’s acting common, he's not elegant,” says Francois, a Paris graduate student who voted for Sarkozy in 2007 who calls himself a Gaullist and thinks former president Jacques Chirac “is the perfect image for France. Tall, dignified, the man who can challenge the Iraq war. Sarkozy is bling-bling. But last night [in the TV forum] Sarkozy was great. Clear. Sharp. A superb communicator. But I won’t vote for him again. I think [current IMF chief and French Socialist Dominque] Strauss-Kahn is the only one with the skills for president, even if I’m not a Socialist man.” French judges went on strike today in their flowing robes after a simmering dispute over Sarkozy’s intervention in the murder of a teenage waitress in Nantes. Police filed preliminary charges against a 31-year-old sex offender with many convictions. But under French law he was released pending clear charges. |

Never thought I'd hear common sense from a European leader. Now, I just wish we could hear it from an American leader again. Stop listening to bat**** crazy Glenn Beck. There isn't a worldwide conspiracy. China isn't taking over Australia and the Muslim Brotherhood isn't invading America. |
