My mother-in-law took my daughter out today for her school supplies. That's a blessing.
I'll bet.

I'll be honest, I haven't really given this whole 'school supply' shit much thought really.......as I've not needed to.

3 times, in the last 5 years, I've loaned money to my friend with 5 kids though........just for this shit.

I did the back to school shopping today....

Please tell me why the list includes 3 oz Dixie cups, napkins, and Kleenex.

We used to drink out of the bubbler.

That's the stuff that pisses me off.. As high as property taxes are, and as much as teachers make for doing nothing..

I have to buy kleenex?

Because........well.........just because!

What was your total cost per kid, if you don't mind my asking?

Hoffa is sayin 40-60 bucks should have covered it.

Is he right? Is this just a weird area I'm in now?

The exception to the 40-60 is the scientific calculator for high school..

But he's used the same one for several years..

My parents never did.

It was rough being a 99%er child.

If I had a kid now, I'd stop feeding it....so it wouldn't grow.

Are you including clothes? I only spend about $30 per kid with just school supplies. I don't buy a whole new wardrobe when school starts. I will pick up a few new things clothing wise soon.

Maybe it's just here then.

I'll get the list, and paste a copy.

Like I said....it sorta shocked me.

Yea.....adding in new clothes would be a massive cost.

My daughter is starting middle school, and there are like $50 some bucks in "fees" I'll have to pay at registration next week. Since I live in WI and pay some of the highest taxes in the country, it is difficult to understand.

If you have multiple kids, you buy a bunch of pens, split them up.. etc..

We don't go overboard, or anything.

The school taxes are ridiculous, though.
