As for the matter of how Bush will be judged by historians, according to a recent poll, 61 percent of historians questioned in a recent poll described him as "the worst president in history." A huge 98 percent declared that his presidency would be judged a failure.

Because he gives the impression of having interests, beyond that of corporate toadying. No 'man of the people' he, but certainly no 'good ole boy' either. Not just another white, stuffed suit who hails from old money. Probably didn't rub shoulders with government cronies at university. Seems to give a fuck, even if you disagree with what he's doing. Not everyone's a Conservative, whose life revolves around their bank balance. And that must infallibly exert a great influence upon the public psyche.
That's fresh. It's different. Dare I say it. Unique? |

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WE GET EVER MORE OF EVER LESS-USEFUL GOVERNMENT. OUR GOVERNMENT IS WRECKING OUR ECONOMY, OUR SOCIETY, AND OUR INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AS IT CONSUMES OUR LIBERTY AND OUR SUBSTANCE. OBAMA IS A MALIGNANT LITTLE FOP...... REGARDLESS OF THE FAWNING MEDIA. HIS DETRACTORS AND HIS THRALLS ALIKE OVER-CREDIT HIM..... HE'S JUST A MONKEY ON A STRING... AND NOT MUCH OF A MONKEY, AT THAT. |
Problem is, people acknowledge no universal definition. One man's liberty is another's tyranny. And freedom could quite well include the freedom to proceed as one will, and with no thought for the freedom of another. Were these concepts written in stone, human history should not have bequeathed us such as war and oppression. The government has the 'freedom' to infringe. They are at 'liberty' to do so. Or so they believe. And that's the point.
Look at this board. There are those here who preach that liberty translates as genocide and persecution. That freedom and liberty necessitate the murder of billions. A document is all well and good, but no two people will read it quite the same way. |
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ LIBERTY IS NOT A MYSTERY.... AND IT IS NOT TYRANNY. GOVERNMENT REQUIRES MASSIVE RESTRAINT. GOVERNMENT IS THE AUTHOR OF GENERAL TYRANNY.... ALWAYS. GOD, THE MERCHANT, AND EVEN SATAN MERELY OFFER.... GOVERNMENT..... WHETHER A KING OR A COMMITTEE, COMPELS. KEEP GOVERNEMNT A-BEGGING, OR IT WILL ROB YOU OF YOUR VERY LIFE. |
