I forget who said that our Constitution was only suitable for a moral people..

This is one of those moral issues that fits the statement perfectly..

An immoral people, either individuals who are immoral.. Or individuals organized into corporations that behave in an immoral way while profit seeking, are equally dangerous.
“It is truly enough said that a corporation has no conscience. But a corporation of conscientious men is a corporation with a conscience.”
― Henry David Thoreau

The problem lies with the people.

Kleinbok is unequivocally wrong. It is not the congress. It is not the corporations, either, for that matter. It is the people.

The vast majority of the citizens of this nation not only have no use for liberty, but they don't deserve it, and couldn't live free if they tried...

THE CONGRESS IS OPERATING OUTSIDE THE LAW.

THAT HAS TO STOP... AND WE'LL HAVE TO STOP IT.

THERE ARE ELEMENTS AMONG THE PEOPLE WHO

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE SITUATION...

DISCIPLINING THE CONGRESS WILL

DEPRIVE THEM OF THE OPPORTUNITY.

ABOUT HALF THE PEOPLE GET IT, SORT OF....

TROUBLE IS, TOO MANY OF THEM THAT GET IT

FOCUS ON THE CLOWN IN THE WHITE HOUSE...

NOT THE AUTHORS OF THE SERIAL OUTRAGES...

WHICH IS THE CONGRESS AND ITS AGENTS.

Take a look at the corruption surrounding the railroad business in the mid-1800's...

It's always been this way.

I think everyone recognizes, at least at a visceral level, how immorally corporations behave.

Yes, limited liability laws create a great degree of economic growth. But, at what cost?

How many shekels are our souls worth, precisely?

I was reading through Exodus, earlier, and the laws of Moses are extremely concerned with fair dealings, restitution, etc.

Islam is much the same.

I DO NOT HAVE PROBLEMS WITH CORPORATIONS...

THE GOVERNMENT BEDEVILS ME DAILY.

ONLY WHEN CORPORATINS COLLUDE WITH

GOVERNMENT DO THEY BECOME A NUISANCE TO ME.

IT TAKES TWO.

WE HAVE WAY TOO MUCH GOVERNMENT....

AND THE BALANCE OF IT IS FAR, FAR LESS

PRODUCTIVE THAN THE GREATER BALANCE

OF CORPORATIONS.

Was speaking of economics...

And, by the way, any female who menstruates is, by definition, an adult.

How old were Joseph and Mary, at the time of Jesus' birth?

I'd guess that Joseph was middle-aged, and Mary a young teen...
