as the unborn have no value and can be aborted, so shall the infirm among the elderly be put down for the good of the many.
I have always thought that abortion had ominous implications for the elderly. Whatever the inconvenience of an unwanted child, it is small compared to the claim of Social Security and Medicare on society’s resources. A society comfortable with killing the unborn will lack the moral scruples to reject euthanasia. It is not difficult to imagine the US government assigning a specified number of retirement years to citizens, and then you take a pill. The declining respect for life is also indicated by the fact that there is no move to impeach Obama for drawing up lists of people, including US citizens, to be executed without due process and by the fact that few Americans even blink an eye at the murder by their government of hundreds of thousands of Muslims in the name of a hoax "war on terror." With society's resources shrinking, the demonization of Social Security endangers the elderly. http://www.vdare.com/articles/writing-off-the-elderly |

Yeah, the budget doesn't even balance till 2040.. And there's a one hell of a lot of assumptions between then and now. It does not freeze or reduce government spending, and as you said, it doesn't balance the budget for decades, if ever. |

That's a bit of a leap, imo.. I think they intend to cull them as Obama said. With a pain pill as opposed to medical treatment. as previously stated, 'the soft approach.' |

The "Ryan Plan" is shit.. Okay? yes, the ryan plan takes too long, but its a start and it does eventually get to a balanced budget. the only to do it quickly is massive benefit cuts and much higher taxes, is that what you favor? |

sure, what would you cut? Realistically? You're going to have to means test SS and Medicare.. Reform them. Still cut the military and stop doing stupid things with it. Those entitlements should be used to take an ax to the rest of government.. Everything from farm subsidies to cowboy poetry should get the AX. |

Personally? Everything that's not in the constitution.. and I'd reign in the military from places it's not needed. means testing is not the answer on SS and medicare. Everyone pays into those programs their entire working lives. If there is no opt out clause, then you can't tell a successful person that he/she is not entitled to the benefits they paid for. Reform those programs for young people, give them some choices. farm subsidies, energy subsidies, art subsidies, planned parenthood subsidies, education subsidies, et al. should be eliminated completely. |

The money is spent.. It no longer exists. It's coming from their grand kids pockets now.. and there's not as many of them... And they aren't living through a golden age. Boom times. |

It's going to have to be that way.. Just get the waste, fraud, and abuse out of the system and it would make a huge difference. I had my knee scoped a few months ago. was in the hospital about 4 hours total. the bill was $27K. That is obscene. |
