If you think this isn't true.. Imagine a baker and a cop. You tax the baker to pay the cop's salary. The cop has a job because of the baker, and the cop provides a safe environment for the baker to peddle his wares..

Now, imagine what happens if the baker, who is the producer in this scenario, goes out of business.. If that happens, the cop goes with him.
The Army doesn't close-up shop when the economy sours because the people deeply imbedded in it, Wall st banksters, try to shaft someone for profit & bring the whole house of laissez faire capitalist cards down upon our heads. Same goes for the DOT. They keep the Interstates operating so that biz can get their products to market.

If I wanted to perpetrate some chicanery I'd prolly go to a state thats practicing austerity, firing police, like Wisconsin

Some regulation is unavoidable.. That's one matter.

But liberals seem to be of the mind that they can CREATE opportunity via Regulation..

"Pass a law, create a business!"

This is flawed.. they're actually passing a tax.

FOR PUTTING AMERICA ON WHEELS.... AND PROVIDING THE MEANS

TO GENERATE THE WEALTH TO ALLOW US THE OPTION OF MANAGING OUR

Taxing for the military is about the stupidest thing you can do.. Unless you are using a tank or a plane to provide security, it's worse than useless.. Much worse than a bridge or a road.

A total negative.

We need defense, obviously... But like the regulation scenario, just because we need a little doesn't mean we need a lot.

I don't want to shut down industry. Farthest thing from it. But I can't understand why anyone who supports laissez-faire would want to socialize any part of the production process.

Not counting pollution as an input cost does just that. This is not rocket science.
