The Ten Principles of a Free Society
by Ron Paul - From the the Appendix to his book, Liberty Defined 1. Rights belong to individuals, not groups; they derive from our nature and can neither be granted nor taken away by government. 2. All peaceful, voluntary economic and social associations are permitted; consent is the basis of the social and economic order. 3. Justly acquired property is privately owned by individuals and voluntary groups, and this ownership cannot be arbitrarily voided by governments. 4. Government may not redistribute private wealth or grant special privileges to any individual or group. 5. Individuals are responsible for their own actions; government cannot and should not protect us from ourselves. 6. Government may not claim the monopoly over a people's money and governments must never engage in official counterfeiting, even in the name of macroeconomic stability. 7. Aggressive wars, even when called preventative, and even when they pertain only to trade relations, are forbidden. 8. Jury nullification, that is, the right of jurors to judge the law as well as the facts, is a right of the people and the courtroom norm. 9. All forms of involuntary servitude are prohibited, not only slavery but also conscription, forced association, and forced welfare distribution. 10. Government must obey the law that it expects other people to obey and thereby must never use force to mold behavior, manipulate social outcomes, manage the economy, or tell other countries how to behave. |

The Ten Principles of a Free Society But Ron Paul will never be president, or the nominee of any party. you are wasting your time with him. why not do something constructive and demand that the GOP platform contains those principles? get off the RP circus wagon and focus on something that will actually work. |

those are all good. I agree with every one of them You're not paying attention. We're taking over. We're becoming delegates, we're becoming precinct officers, we're insinuating ourselves at every level into the republican party and the parliamentary process. If the GOP is to have a future, we are it... Your conception of republicanism is dead, Rocat. It will end, very soon, if left to it's own devices. I know we're rattling your cage, and that can be disconcerting, but we're the only chance the GOP has, going forward. |

You have a generation of young people becoming engaged in politics, who are excited about LIBERTY!!!!!!
And you want to dismiss that? Throw it away?!? I meet people all the time, in their early twenties, who were turned on by the Ron Paul phenomenon, who have a better conception of freedom and rights than my parents' generation has ever had. That is amazing! |

Jeshu is correct. There are many 20 somethings becoming interested in politics due to the excitement caused by Ron Paul and his platform for liberty. They are also well informed and can hold their own in a debate. I wish more of them would join this forum. |

Right. That's what makes this so significant. And even if they are involved in politics, they always go liberal. But now, all of a sudden, we have a republican candidate that can move the young? That is something special, and you ridicule it at your own peril. |
