Default Generic Republican Demeanor
You know the type, some half-assed blowhard who walks around acting like everybody else is so stupid, has no "common sense", must be a closet socialist, etc...

Yeah, that's gonna win people to your cause...

Some of you people are your own worst enemies, and you don't even know it...

I mean, can you imagine somebody like Superdude, at a cocktail party, trying to change the hearts and minds of his friends and neighbors??!?!

Oy Vey...

Stop "HELPING"!!!!!!!!

This is silly. I'm a conservative and most of the time I watch my front end hoping others will watch theirs.

The problem is other people want to not only watch my front end for me, but also take the wheel, or close the road.

Conservatives by and large (whether they are Repulicans or not) work for what they have and insist that others do also.

"If I can do it or have to do it then so should others."

People who work for a living and value every penny are shamed when accused of being lazy, unintelligent, un-passionate, or less than diligent in professional affairs.

I'll reluctantly vote for mittins in the general election. I don't know why I'm bothering though. He's nothing but a Viagra spokesperson reject.

Sorta like the Third Party advocates running around : "Ohhh, you gotta vote for Nader, man. He's like, so nonconformist and anti-establishment and shih."

Yeah, right. The only thing third party ever got us was Bill Clinton.

Or what about the guy who hasn't figured out his washed up candidate is just burning bridges: "Duuuuuuude, he still has a chance. You should vote for him just to prove a point."

Yeah, right. What point and to whom?? You think your "point" means shit in the world of election politics.

Wow, that really hurt 'em. You go, Tiger.

I'm really not sure what you're trying to say, Toney.

I'm talking about a mob mentality, us vs. them, just for the sake of it. That's all well and good if you're rooting for the Yankees, but this is a little more important. A small dose of critical thinking can go a long way.

You generic Republicans are selling yourselves as assholes. I don't see how you find this to be an effective strategy. I can't stand it, and I agree with you guys on many things, politically...

I'm not a Repube. And I'm not generic.

I think the point many are making when they hold their nose and vote is that things are very very very bad right now under nObama. Sure, blame Bush for as much as you want. It's true. But it means shit now. Another 4 years of nObama will make the GOP obsolete anyway. The results will have to be mopped up by a different political group altogether. Not even sure what it might look like. Maybe a mix of weary Americans who once believed in party politics but now see how destructive it's been.
BTW, and I've said this before, my state is decided for nObama. My vote means nothing. And for the first time in a few decades, I probably won't vote in the prez election.

Bush Sr was definitely out of touch. It was easy to pick on him over the economy and score points. But the fact is, Clinton never got even 50% in either of his elections.

I believe that it shows a trend AWAY from the Biz As Uze (business as usual) apathy,

and that's really what it IS ~ a disinclination to actually study the field and THINK about what each candidate/party represents ~

TOWARD a more knowledgeable voter base,

that is going to DEMAND that certain criteria be met,
and that our gov follow our founding principles,

which has NOT been the case, up to this point.

The "message" is : The Free Ride Is Over

We Want

NAY, DEMAND

the CONTRACT that we ALL signed on for.

If a candidate and/or a party is not willing to offer certain of us that,

we refuse to just roll over like good dogs and follow over the cliff.

Bush Sr was definitely out of touch.
Not only that, but he was intransigent.. He thought Perot's concerns about the debt and trade were rubbish that serious people shouldn't discuss..

He could have acted here, and reached out to what was clearly a growing number of Americans who were concerned about these things... Attempted to deflate Perot and draw them into the fold..

Instead, he stuck his nose in the air.. Like a typical, establishment Republican.

Clinton was elected as a result.
