Default John Stossel: Why We're Losing

"People don’t understand the private sector. They don’t like it. Intuitively, it seems selfish. Most people are busy trying to run their own lives. They’re grateful to politicians who want to take charge. It seems intuitive to think that a smart group of planners concerned about the collective good can accomplish more than free people pursing their own interests individually in the private sector. But history is filled with examples of how the solutions politicians propose create new problems without solving the old. Urban renewal wiped out entire neighborhoods without improving cities, mortgage subsidies created a damaging financial bubble, the war on drugs created a prison-industrial complex while barely taking a dent out of drug abuse. The list goes on and on..."

It's a good article. Long...

Eventually, Republicans said they’d start by cutting $100 billion out of the 2011 budget. The media were aghast. Liberals wailed about “draconian” cuts. They live in an alternate universe. Congress was planning to spend almost $4 trillion; $100 billion is less than 3 percent of that. Firms in the private sector make bigger cuts all the time without blinking an eye. Good wording. A subtle point often missed.

What's more selfish than sitting around the house drinking malt liquor, smoking crack all day and having babies while expecting someone else to pay your bills?

AND THEY FEAR LIBERTY.

What exactly is liberty to you? The liberty to starve? Die in a fucking gutter somewhere?

The liberty to be denied work, equal rights, equal treatment, equal pay? The internet shows just how fucking bad free markets are. No accountability as a minority of raged filled teenagers boss everyone around, banning them from all websites. So information is compromised, equality is subverted, making new friends is sabotaged... all because some fucking asshole wants it to be. And you all let him because "durp hurp! His property!"

But when a child molester lures a kid to his basement using said admin's forum, oh... suddenly it isn't his cross to bare. Even though he had full control of the environment, even though he exercises the abuse he "can" do on his forum in every other circumstance, he has his cake and eats it too every single day... and the one time he'd have to pay for it. You claim no blame. Fuck you, fuck your markets, all you capitalists should be hanged on a rope.

What's more selfish than sitting around the house drinking malt liquor, smoking crack all day and having babies while expecting someone else to pay your bills? Running a monolithic empire that controls the wages, controls the means of production, the land, and even the people's general opinion to the point of sitting around, drinking malt liquor, smoking crack, and having babies is really the only thing they CAN do... and even then they want to prevent that. Because that could lead to a revolution.

Don't go to work, collect welfare. Make those rich assholes who don't appreciate you pay for your food.
Drink liquor and smoke crack. The bourgeois don't want you too because those substances can be easily produced and are not easy to monopolize.
Have lots of kids so you can collect more welfare, and raise them to hate white people, white culture, and capitalism. Hope they join a gang or become a serial killer, further destablizing society.

As God as my witness I'm going to make the tax payer pay for fucking everything I need or want. Since they told me I couldn't have it, that I had to bend backward for it, and live up to "their" expectations. Fuck your society, fuck your rules, fuck your stability.

Yes. It also includes the option to choose otherwise.

That's usually the reason.

You won't make anyone pay, Jim. It's not in you.

Rights are one thing. You have the right to do as you will.

But you don't have the right to act like a dick, and still get a job, or the same pay, or the same treatment, as someone else.

Or do you treat the guy who fucked your girlfriend the same as everybody else? Are you a saint?

No, no, no, no, no. The way to deal with assholes is to treat them really badly. Don't hire them, or pay them way less, and treat them like shit. Hopefully they starve to death in a gutter somewhere, making the world a better place, albeit stinkier...

No, Jim, you want a temporal god. That's your goal. An eye in the sky that loves you the same, no matter what your actions are.

Let me simplify: If there is no one on earth that will give you food, then you have got to be so much of an asshole that you deserve death.

speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) claimed his party wanted to make big cuts. When he was sworn in, he declared, “Our spending has caught up with us.…No longer can we kick the can down the road.” But when NBC anchorman Brian Williams asked him to name a single program “we could do without,” Boehner said, “I don’t think I have one off the top of my head.”

No shit.

I really wonder why....
