Default Why Ron Paul is not going away.
http://www.cnn.com/2012/05/04/opinio...aul/index.html

"...Paul's campaign represents a message that is bigger and perhaps more popular than the candidate himself. As it continues to collect small numbers of delegates and capture control of local GOPs, Paulism is proving itself to be in rude health. Long after Mitt is nominated, feted at the convention, beaten by Obama and recycled as a question on Jeopardy ("In 2012, he lost every state but Utah." "Who is ... Britt Gormley?"), Paul's philosophy will still be a factor in national politics -- something to be feared and courted in equal measure..."

If Mitt doesn't receive 1,144 votes on the first ballot, he will not be the Republican nominee. That doesn't mean that Ron Paul will be the nominee, but it does mean he'll have some say in whoever is...

Part of Paul's appeal is that quirkiness he displays.

At first glance , you're like ok... "this is a crotchety old bastard three steps from broken hip".
Then he drops the one liner and makes other candidates look like the stale, out of touch plutocrat's that they are .

I'm really glad I voted for him, but his impact will dimminish rather quickly.

You are in a dream state, Jes. RP will never be anything more than he is today. a quirky old fart with a few good ideas. He will not be a factor at the convention and the best you can hope for is that he gets a prime time speech.

Now, heres another major reason to vote for :

"If Mitt wins the nomination, as seems very likely, I will enthusiastically support his candidacy. For my friends who have hesitation on that score, I'd just ask you to keep four things in mind: Justice Scalia just turned 78, Justice Kennedy will turn 78 later this year, Justice Breyer will be 76 in August, and Justice Ginsburg turned 81 about a week ago. We wish them all well, of course, but the brute fact is that whoever we elect as president in November is almost certainly going to choose at least one and maybe more new members of the Supreme Court -- in addition to hundreds of other life-tenured federal judges, all of whom will be making momentous decisions about our lives for decades to come. If you don't think it matters whether the guy making those calls is Mitt or Barack Hussien Obama, I think you're smokin' something funky." --columnist Andrew McCarthy

This is correct. I am not going away, regardless of how many times Rocat spams that Andrew McCathy quote. America needs someone who understands the economy, can cut wasteful spending, and who will create jobs. I am that candidate.

If true, then the likelihood is he's punching above his weight. Or he's dishonest.

Either way, it bodes not well for the American public.

You're not going anywhere. That was my point.

I admire your grit. Those wheel spins can get messy.

You think an instant 5 hour eye-lift will do it for him?

I admire your devotion to your guy and your passion for your ideology. But neither of those will result in a victory over obama in november.

you are dreaming while awake if you think RP is going to pull off an upset at the convention, and even if he did, he would lose to obama 80/20.

He would lose by the same margin will. So what's the difference?

The difference is having an honest solution. That's all. Vote for your dickhead. It doesn't matter. cannot win.
