It's because of his record. He's a lousy candidate.

If he turns out to be a liar, he could cripple the GOP.

And "But, but, but.. He's better than Obama!" won't make a bit of difference..

America cast the GOP out in 06 and 08.. They got another chance in 10.. And they're better not blow it or they might get thrown out again.

There was a time when the GOP was locked out of power for nearly half a century.. Is that what you want to return to? The party of dogs drooling on the butcher's shop window?
What exactly do you know about 's record?? What CNN and ABC have told you? Yeah, care was bad, but it was one state's decision and it only covered the 8% that did not already have coverage. It is nothing like obamacare--not even close.

Successful businessman who created millions of jobs and made money for stockholders, or a community organizer who hates the country????

Right now the oddsmakers are saying Obama will be elected at 2/1. With at +170 its not looking good for the home team. Its not just one group of oddsmakers this is fairly representative of a lot of oddsmakers. Lets remember here, Obama is not having to cover a point spread like one would on a football or basketball game. He only has to win.....2012 Presidential Election - Top Candidates Favored To Be Next U.S. President
(Available - updated 4/27/2012)
Barack Obama: -210 - Odds On Favorite
Mitt : +170
Newt Gingrich: off the board
Ron Paul: off the board
Its early, Reagan was losing at this point.

What exactly do you know about 's record??
That he's a gun grabbing, global warming, baby killing, flip flopping, unconservative, northeast pussbag from a family of them..

He claims to be conservative now.. BUT, there's nothing in his record to support this claim. So, he'd better not be lying. It had better be an 11th hour conversion.

Successful businessman who created millions of jobs and made money for stockholders Don't care.. The country is not a business.. If it were, it'd be the most unsuccessful business in the history of the world.

It doesn't need to be run like a business. The President is not a CEO.

will never get the chance to prove himself either way. Too much apathy from conservatives in this election. Too much focus on yesterday and not enough on tomorrow. As I stated in the OP. Apparently its going to take another 4 more years of Obama to bring mom and pop America so far down on their knees and make them true believers to the point that by 2016 they will be begging for a Republican. Any Republican.

Wrong on all counts hoffa. very wrong. "the country is not a business" ? No? The WTF is it? a charity? a war machine? Its a business---it can only spend what it confiscates from the citizens (or should operate that way) just like any business, when outgo exceeds income, it fails. We do need a CEO.

Sadly, you are probably right. Apathy and ignorance is a bad combination.

His record is clear.. You're simply incorrect.

"the country is not a business" ? No? The WTF is it? a charity? a war machine? Its a business---it can only spend what it confiscates from the citizens (or should operate that way) just like any business, when outgo exceeds income, it fails. We do need a CEO. That's just silly.. It's flawed thinking.

The federal government has but a few roles, turning a profit isn't one of them.

If it is a business, It's a terrible model.. A failure from the get go. A money losing hole in the bottom of all our wallets that takes their Constitutional functions and socializes the cost of providing them.

It's a "business" in the exact same way as Public Education is a "business" Or the license branch.. Or any number of other government entities.

We don't need a "CEO" Reagan ran a union for crying out loud.

You obviously don't know much about business or you'd never make such a ridiculous statement.

Well, by that logic.. They should be "begging for a Republican" now also?

But they aren't.. And you aren't going to whip them into a revolving door between abusive relationships like this.

The GOP needs to perform.. It's THEIR FAULT.. Not the voters.

Main Street America didn't do anything wrong. DC failed them.

If the GOP fails them this time out, I don't know what will happen.. But it's not going to be good.

CEO skills don't necessarily translate. It's not a kingdom, it's a republic.

What the country needs is an environment where at least the businesses are able to operate as a business. The country itself does not have to be ran as a profitable business but it has to be ran close enough to the center of the ledger that it is able to function indefinately. At this time we are not doing that. In the past we were. How it functions is from the revenue of corporate and individual entities. We cannot cripple the corporate entities to the point in favor of the indi. interests or vice versa to the point one offsets the other. Govt./Corporate/individual interests have a common interest and that is one of economic survival. Govt. cannot survive without the latter two. There has to be a balance of the three for a shared interest to be the best interest. However, unless you are a socialist you understand that its better for corporate and personal interests to be dominant over the Govt.....On their worst day corporate America and the people of America need to understand the govt. is each of their greatest threats, not one another. I say keep the govt. a little bit needy and keep them in debt to the people and to corporate america but not to needy or the govt. becomes to great of a burden. IOW, keep the govt. dependant on the people. Not the people dependant on the govt.....if we dont keep the govt. a little bit needy then WTF do they need us for?....the people have a lot more power when the govt. is running a deficit....a managable deficit is preferred but a deficit nonetheless....

I did not say that the govt should make a profit. I said income should equal expenditures. i.e. break even, balanced.

business like thinking is the only way to achieve that end.

Beans, lots of them, vacumn-packed. A variety of legumes and rices. Tobacco for trading, flour, etc. Fill up the basement. A handful of chickens would be helpful too, and a goat. Funny how chickens and goats can save the day where politicians can't.
