"Many proponents of the statist ideology will work hard to see to it that the champions of freedom are denied a candidate in the general election who expresses those viewpoints. As usual, America’s political class will try to limit debate so that only statist viewpoints are widely expressed and only candidates with statist viewpoints are included on the ballot in November. This year is very different. It is possible and likely that Ron Paul will win the Republican nomination and that great contest of ideas will take place. Instead of Americans being forced to choose between two statists of different flavors (“the lesser of two evils”), they will be able to decide between an advocate of statism and an advocate of freedom."

Vote Ron Paul! Because pork and double-billing first-class flights are the libertarian way! |

If those allegations are 100% true, it's no different than every other politician. With that being said, he'll never get the nomination and he'll never be president. I think people should focus on solutions that might be effective rather than put hope into the hopeless. As for the double-billing, that's at least an ethics violation. Yes, that's different from just about every other politician. It's fraud. He'd better get to the bottom of it, PDQ, or he's going to be remembered as a criminal. Charlie Rangel level? No. But he's supposed to be better than that. |

On the pork front, he is different from other Republican politicians. Very different. Most of them have disavowed the practice as wasteful profligate spending and favor currying. Ron Paul rationalizes it. |

He's been running interference for romney all through the debates...attacking all and sundry who challenged mcromney for front runner status. Anybody besides me notice that he hasn't uttered a word against romney? My guess is that he's laying the groundwork for rand's future career.
Rand has said he'd be honored to be romney's veep. |
