Default Should the USA engage in waterboarding?

No, I do not think we should engage in such behavior.

Period. Ever. For any reason.

We've spent so much time caught up in defining it as torture or not, I thought it a better idea to just ask the simple question of should we do it or not...

Yes, we should do it, but only to the most dangerous terrorists and only when our intelligence services have exhausted other methods.

If should not be used except in extraordinary circumstances----------and in fact, that is the only time it has been used by the US. three---count em---three 3, on 3 pieces of terrorist shit who had or were planning to kill innocent americans.

Nope. There is no hard evidence that it works and the US should at least attempt to take the moral highroad.

I call it 'situational ethics'.

And it's a sad thing.

sadly, ethics are ALWAYS situational. you would not kill another person to rob him, but you would kill him if he raped your daughter.

In some situations it, and much more harsh, is perfectly acceptable in my opinion. Never against American citizens and never against uniformed soldiers though.
