Default Here's why the War on Drugs can be considered a failure.
The only way you could consider it a failure is because we're not doing enough to wage it. If we enforced our laws to the letter like we're supposed to, I truly believe drug use/trafficking/etc. would be next to nothing. Instead, Obama just sits back while millions of Americans turn themselves on to marijuana through services selling it like the snake oil it is, kids everywhere are using synthetic poisons that are somehow legal, and our liberal media glamourizes and praises drug use through every entertainment outlet.

Our drug problem has gotten so bad that a recent poll suggests that AT LEAST half of all Americans support legalizing marijuana. That means AT LEAST half of our country uses this illegal drug. No wonder our country has gone downhill so much. It's sickening.

The moralistic backbone of America has been weakening since the rise of liberalism in the late '60s. And what's the one thing most closely associated with that time period? Drugs. Before the sixties, illegal drug use was next to nothing. Our economy prospered and our country had strong moral values. Since the sixties, communities have fallen apart, the economy fluctuated, and illegal drugs can be found in every major city and small-town neighborhood. Why? Because we're not doing anything to stop it.

Illegal drug use is not about personal freedoms and liberties. It's a health concern, and an endangerment to users and non-users alike. So the next time some idiot suggests that a war on drugs is unnecessary and that drugs should be legalized, don't listen to them. That's just the drugs talking.

I have you on ignore, UW, so I'm assuming you're on another one of your drug-addled rants.

Rather an involved OP, from the guy who recently claimed to have no further interest in this issue.

If there really were any drug-free people speaking out against the idea of waging a war on drugs, drugs would have been legalized by now.
