Socialism is a much bigger threat than any of these things.. The idea that "Hey, we can just do this, then take a LITTLE MONEY from everyone and socialize the cost!" is a far more dangerous thing than a couple of dumbfucks who think newt is a messiah..

This simple concept has led us to trash our founding document.. Which, in turn, permitted the federal government to be bought out from under us by interests way more powerful and wealthy than Main Street. It's sunk us 15 trillion dollars in debt.. It drives political ideologies and perverts our national politics.. Permitting worthless DC chair polishers to continue to consume space, simply because they promise to socialize the right things, and not the wrong things.. This year, anyway.. It keeps us in a constant state of political paralysis. It locks poor policies into place.
It's the single biggest threat to this country today.

The second biggest threat is Jews rocking preemies.. But the solution for that is simple:

I have to be honest and admit that I really can't comment on "why" people are so damned stupid. But yes, the lack of critical thinking that infects large swaths of society today is quite disturbing.

It will be our downfall.

Ignorant people will gobble up any propaganda that is fed them if it is served up with the flavors they crave. I don't think it's particularly an American thing, but I see the majority of it coming from religiously bent populations (I'm not being particular to any religion here).

That being said, I don't think that religion in of itself is evil, just that when it is taken to extremes and imposed on others. People do need some sort of spiritual connection for the most part, unfortunately most of the time those connections are controlled by men with an agenda.

Teaching people that reality itself is subjective will never end well.. Because men have an almost infinite capacity to rationalize things away.

Generally speaking: Incurious people fall victim to this.. They aren't interested in the truth for its own sake, and on its own merit as truth. A simple sound byte or some lame justification is all they need to settle the falsehood in their own minds so they can feel good about being wrong.
