"My point is, if another country does to us what we do to others, we’re not going to like it very much. So I would say that maybe we ought to consider a golden rule – in foreign policy. Don’t do to other nations what we don’t want to have them do to us"

And that specious rhetoric is exactly why Ron Paul can't win a primary or get the GOP nomination.

Anyone who can't see the the US is a force for good int the world doesn't deserve to sit in the driver seat!

The reluctance to kill isn't disappearing. There never was a reluctance to kill among those societies where life is cheap.
The Obama administration is a force for good in the world?

Why don't you try it?
If I had a can of pepper spray and you pissed me off sufficiently, I might do it. This thread of yours would be ample reason to spray you, but in reality what you need is more life experience and seasoning.

stay with me and wiseguy and you will learn a lot.

You and your hero Ron Paul need a few history lessons on what the USA has done and why. Yes, we have been in stupid wars--Viet Nam tops the list, but this country has also saved millions of lives, fed millions of people, and done more good in the world than any country in history.

Were we wrong to save Europe from Hitler? Did Kuwait ask for our help against Saddam? Did Afghanistan hide the bastards who orchestrated 9/11?

If you study history you will find that the USA has been on the right side of the golden rule more than any other country.

No one said that, nor did anyone say that the US is perfect!

OWEblamer's administration is not the US...and that is why we are on our way to righting a wrong and making sure that this administration is nothing but a bunch of sear warmers.
Obama's administration and the military he commands is not the USA, but it is a representation of the USA.

Yes, and that is why he and his people must be removed from office in november.

Good. That's a very good decision.

We must cultivate a culture of peace, whenever possible.

And so?

The military in the USA plays a significant role in the US being a force for good in the world. Often, it is our military that delivers aid in times of crisis... no matter who, what, when or where. A perfect testimony to America's exceptionalism.
Our military accomplishes whatever it is asked to accomplish. It is top-notch.

What I question are the orders.

and dance around the maypole drinking coke and smoking pot. hari hari krisna, hari hari krisna. everyone merge into one big pile of love----christians, jews, muslims, hindus, buddists, blacks, whites, asians, eskimos, janitors, and CEOs. one big pile of loving humanity dancing around the maypole to the summer solstice.
