For and Paul, a strategic alliance between outsider and establishment
Despite deep differences on a range of issues, and Paul became personal friends in 2008, the last time both ran for president. So did their wives, Ann and Carol. The former Massachusetts governor compliments the Texas congressman during debates — praising Paul’s religious faith during the last one, in Jacksonville. Immediately afterward, as is often the case, the Pauls and the s gravitated toward each other to say hello. http://www.washingtonpost.com/politi...oiQ_story.html |

Paul knows he won't win but vows to stay in to the bitter end ... which never gives any of the other candidates a chance to consolidate enough votes against . Then ... wallah! Congratulations President ! And Paul collects his thirty pieces of silver, so to speak.
